Hi guys! Good day to all of you! :)
I'm needing your advise, my fiancé and I are planning to apply for a visit visa. My partner is an english citizen and has a good job there in England, however I'm currently unemployed and the only family tie I have here in philippines is the home I live in with my family.
I'd like to ask for the list of requirements for me and also for my fiancé.
I hope to you can give help me with this. Thank you! :)

why bother with a visit visa ? just apply for a settlement ( marriage ) visa--or fiancee visa as its usually called. you dont need any income--your fiance in the UK is the sponsor--its his income thats needed. and suitable accommodation. you stand more likely to be successful with that. then it gives you up to 6 months to be here with him--and get married--or--if you dont--then you return at the end of the visa term.

Hi Bigmac, we plan to get married here in the philippines on September, for the mean time we consider that I can go for the visit visa. Now I'm researching for requirements so I can visit him. Thank you

well--a visit visa is a low cost visa--so--in your case --if your prepared to risk the fee--just apply--be totally truthful in your application--about your intentions and your home circumstances. include a letter from your fiance saying his income and ability to support you during your visit.

you really dont have a lot to lose---just give it a go.

Visit Visas can be difficult to get. If you can show that a wedding is being planned in The Philippines that may work in your favour - as you have a reason to return to The Philippines.

That being said, if ukvi believe that there is a chance you won't return, because you are visiting your fiance, then it could work against you. I would suggest you apply for a spouse visa after you marry. If the visa visa fails you will have to disclose that on your spouse visa application. I wouldn't bother for such little benefit. Why not have him visit you?

I've personally known very many declared fiancees be granted a visit visa.
Many spouses also get granted visit visa's

It depends entirely on the visa application, the presented case and the understanding of the caseworkers.

I'm not saying its impossible. I'm pointing out that there is a chance of failure. And I would personally prefer to submit a 'clean' spouse visa application with no record of any previous refusals than risk having a refusal on there. Up to every person to make their own decision as to what's a smart move. :)

@Micawber and @ChoiAndJohn, thank you for the both of you. Ypu guys have good points. I'lbs discussing tonight with my fiancé on what's the best option, then I'll post again here. Right now, all I'm feeling is I want to be with him again.

@ChoiAndJohn, he just visited me here in philippines last November 1-20 our relationship became more serious, it's the magic of the first meeting after 4 months of chatting.
He plans to come back here on September of 2016 for our wedding, 9 months of waiting..so we plan that I'll travel in Uk, hopefully we will make the right choice on what visa to apply and hopefully the caseworker is in good mood when he review our application :)
