    Hello guys

I hope and pray all is well with everybody out there. I've been trying for the third time to reschedule my appointment for passport renewal with the London embassy. Unfortunately, I couldn't set a date and time of appointment for the next 3 months as there were no green slots (available dates) to book. But then this is the case for the whole year of 2021. I've emailed 3 addresses (consular assistance, passport assistance) and see if this is the case of if it's a glitch.

Did anybody tried to re-schedule and experience this issue? Any advice?

    Thanks in advance!!

    From the Embassy home page!
The Philippine Embassy is temporarily suspending all frontline consular services until 15 February 2021 as the UK Government has placed England under lockdown from 5 January to 15 February 2021. This is a precautionary measure to safeguard the health of the public and our personnel.

All appointments booked from 5 January to 15 February 2021 are deemed cancelled and must be rescheduled independently by the applicants through VFS Global Services.

We urge the Filipino community to heed UK Government advice by staying at home and postponing all non-essential travel.

In case of death or detention of Philippine citizens, please call +44 78 0279 0695.

Just checked and showing appointments in July.

Sure when I checked before Christmas earliest new appointments were in April so with recent cancellations then July sounds about right for next free appointments.

My Filipino wife’s passport has expired and we can’t seem to make an appointment to get it renewed. Does anybody know the latest situation on trying to make an appointment for passport renewal with VFS global? ..currently the vfs website is showing ‘no dates are available’. Is anybody else in the same or similar situation?

Think they have big backlog of appointments. After last appointment in feb was canceled wife rebooked appointment in December. Think there might have been end November appointment but December appointment was better in terms of timing.

Advice then was to wait and see if restrictions reduced and more appointment became available. Think had relook recently and no appointment showing. Just keep relooking regularly in hope it improves. As come out of lockdown things may get better.

Hi, has anyone tried to book an appointment to renew philippine passport recently? Could you please let me know your experience from start to finish? I cant seem to find an available date for this year. I'm wondering if they could accommodate us if we just show up but dont want to risk it as train tickets to London can be very expensive if they turn us away.

Embassey line is if don't have appointment then won't get in. The appointments book up fast when released.

We got an appointment for end of October when wife heard there were appointment in one of her Facebook groups but that was on 9th August.

Remembered seeing this but had to go hunt to find it.

New appointments will be released every second and fourth Monday of the month, between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. For now, kindly monitor the VFS appointment portal in case new slots are made available from recent cancellations.

Thanks for the information, my wife tried for an appointment today but no available slots for renewal appointments, she will try again in 2 weeks, no panic yet! but when the BRP is due for renewal February in the new year and passport expires in April this appointment system by the renowned VFS aint exactly great, Why cant the Philippines have an online renewal like here in the UK ?.

that would be too easy. Just wait till you actually attend the embassy--a whole new level of misery awaits.

Can extend the passport if not yet expired. I'm sure they will do a one year extension to keep it live although how much use it is for general traveling remains to be seen. Think need to be doing that nearer the time.

Slots will probably be driven by the number of people they will process in a day.

As you said if only they did an online system like the UK. On a plus side don't have to find a counter signature for the passport.

Would also have been easier if had switched to ten year passports earlier. My wife is on five year passport which expires next year but luckily have an an appointment in school holiday week in October.

Think will have to look at booking hotel somewhere closer day before to make sure make it on time.

I think they are making you jump through hoops now on extension ie you have to show urgent need

My wife has got a Passport renewal appointment for November 3rd, so another day off for her and me plus return Train fares down to London, all adds up to the cost of renewing but at least she wont have to renew for another 10 years.
