The serious photographers will no doubt be unimpressed. But our small pocket camera that we used to take many of our photos in the Philippines eventually died. My wife has a low end of the range Sony Digital SLR but with the toddler and when travelling or out and about, she doesn't find it convenient to cart it around with her everywhere we go. So we decided to replace our (Sony) pocket camera with the Samsung Galaxy Camera above. We saw these a couple of years ago when they first came out and nearly bought one then, but couldn't justify the then price to ourselves. But now, because Samsung are coming out with a new model, these have suddenly become more affordable. So we bought one. The wife likes the compactness of it and it's zoom capability. And the fact that it is internet ready, complete with wifi capability for uploading photos to facebook etc.
You could have saved a few bob, if you had gone for the Galaxy 4 zoom, with 20 meg+ camera, and phone at the same time, with all bells and whistles... We are considering it at the moment, only that her indoors can't make her mind up.. http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/android/SM-C1150ZKABTU
Ah but we already have 2 iphones in the family. But I see the zoom function there in the link, undoubtedly a devlopment from their camera. How much? Looks like £400. We paid £169.00
