So a third are completed between 60 and 120 working days. That’s a fair number of weeks.

I read that as 32% of all applications are completed between 12 and 24 weeks from submission i.e. 97% finalised in 24 weeks.

    Just out of interest.

Figures sourced for a month in 2014 Settlement Visas

78% were processed inside 8 weeks. 98% inside 12 weeks.

    March 2013
    Settlement Visas
    10 days : 1%
    15 days : 1%
    40 days : 23%
    60 days : 91%
    90 days : 100%

So one third (32% (+ 3% OVER 120 days)) of applications MISS their target...

There definitely seem to be fluctuations - not just a one-way trend...

What’s the “target” date? 60 days?

    If so then yes.

That's the 'official' line of UKVI...

They aim to complete Settlement Visa applications within 12 (working) weeks -

12×5 days (i.e. excluding weekends and Public holidays) -

For Visitor Visa applications, it is 15 days (3 working weeks). I can't remember if they met that target when we applied - and failed - last year!

I did notice, at the link I provided, they are now saying '... most applications (97% in April) are processed within 120 days' - which has gone up from 90 days in recent previous months. There is now no mention of 100%, unlike in March.

all this improved service has come about since the applications were handled at sheffield. when the £500 priority service was introduced--jan 2016 ?--manila was turning round the priority apps in 10 days.

    *improved*...

The only thing that seems to have improved is keeping the numbers down - marginally - but at what cost, I wonder?

That’s all but 6 months (for given a 5 working day week that doesn’t include public holidays).

It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, UKVI seems to be indiscriminate when it comes to visa delays: Roman Abramovich, Chelsea's multi-billionaire owner, is currently stuck outside the UK waiting for his visa to be renewed which meant he missed witnessing his team's 1-0 victory over Man-U. His visa apparently expired sometime last month.

It looks like the Immigration authorities have been “parking the bus” recently....

No doubt UKVI would use every possible excuse -

Windrush, peak season, etc... - although 'Peak season' is a bit rich, as our application was submitted in mid-February...

Without knowing how UKVI operate we will never know, but I suspect it is pretty much the same for anyone outside the EU - for now, at least!

My understanding is that the figures relate to elapsed time from submission to decision on the application, give or take a day or two at either end.

    Another question,

When we do go past the 60 working day mark.
Do you think it’s worth email or calling then if they’ve given no update on why it’s taking longer?

I have read people on here doing that but getting the generic emails?
