She was only 15 when she left the country.
15 year olds haven't got a clue about the world and everything in it.

Shamima Begum at 15 years old hasn’t a clue about the world
Greta Thunberg at 15 years old the world should listen!
    Odd

One is a misguided girl who left her country under the illusion of joining a muslim utopia, the other is a girl who sees what little is done about climate change.
    Two different issues IMO.

Mike in a previous post you state” 15 year olds haven’t a clue about the world everything in it” the point I make is both are 15 and yet we should excuse the evil that’s behind Bagum mindset because of her age 15 but we should except Thunberg aged 15 ideology, but yet from your statement 15 year olds have no clue of the world.
    Sorry can’t accept that reasoning
Bagum is now a political football and depending what colours you wear then whoever will want her back in the UK or not.
My preference is she continues to play in the stadium she chose.

As I understand Begum was a 15 year old, grade A student, so not stupid and probably not easily lead. She was five years over the age of criminal responsibly in UK.

Shamima Begum apologises to UK public and says she'd 'rather die' than return to IS | ITV News
Quote: Ms Begum had previously compared the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing – in which 22 people died after homegrown jihadi Salman Abedi detonated a suicide bomb – to military strikes on IS strongholds, calling the terror attack “retaliation”.

I suspect if she were male we not hear the type of pleas we have.

Jon Venables and Robert Thompson were 10 when they murdered 2 year old James Bulger. I believe the general public think they should spend their full life in prison.

At long last, some common sense, backed by evidence, not available to the public, has brought some kind of end to this sorry saga that the BBC was trying to glamorise.

This is a difficult one, I know as a 15 year old myself I did some very stupid things that I wish I'd never done.

Actually even as a 16, 17, 18, 19 year old I still continued to do crazy things - nothing like she did but things I look back on now with a degree of incredulity. Some find life easy and straightforward and some don't - some fly and rise to the top and some sink and end up on skid-row - whose fault is that?

But, is she just trying to get back in so she can strap a bomb to herself and blow up half of Birmingham or something?

    Who knows...

With regard to James Bulger, whose to say the parents/guardians didn't leave them watching vids of maniacs killing everyone day after day and one day they just went out and copied the movie or something?

Should they be in prison or was it the parents/guardians fault or that of someone else?

As a society aren't we all partly responsible for some of the dreadful things that happen everyday?

And if we are, shouldn't we be the ones to take her back and try to put her on the right path?

Another Red Horse and I'll probably be able to answer these questions :D

As a 50 year old I was still doing stupid things, but we have to live with the consequences, hopefully her plight may just deter the odd Muslim kid or two from jumping on a plane to wherever and doing whatever.
Been there Bro,it ain’t nice
Let’s hope this is the end of the begum saga and she fades into obscurity (but somehow I doubt it).

How can society at large be responsible, even partly, for one's personal choices?? One can take a horse to water...

In my humble opinion...? Out of the question ! That ship has sailed. The risk factor in her presence in the UK far outweighs any perceived benefits, to the point where Mr Justice Jay found against her.

I hope I have helped you with the answers and save you a few piso worth of beer.

    I've been doing some fishing:

Apparently Begum was groomed as a teen and may have been trafficked... so the issue is complex and may revolve more around whether she could actually be convicted in a British court if she were to return than the fact that she truly poses a danger to the UK or whatever.

Question is, are UK Gov manipulating her situation because they don't want her to be given a fair trial or because they know they'll end up looking stupid if they did?

Just call me Tony - trust me :D

I think we all did things as youngsters that on reflection we now cringe at but most of these I guess would be on impulse, and often minor, she appears to of been groomed! Yes but she could of walked away I think the 3 of them went off to what they thought would be a better life and it’s backfired I guess she should be thankful she is still alive, one of the 3 is dead, one is missing and then you have SB.
James Bulgars killers had been prior to the murder been watching and playing lots of violent video games and at the time they went to court, it was demonstrated that the viewing had played a role in the 10 year olds murderous actions, and yes a lot of blame was laid at the parents door (1993) they the 110 year olds were sentenced to indefinite detention but granted parole and new identities. Venables one of the murderers is at present serving time ( second stretch as an adult) for child pornography! You just can’t correct some people regardless of corrective action.
The world has moved on from 1993 but it appears one individual from the murderous pair has not
SB, by the experts who advise government is perceived that she is still a risk to our ( including mine) security in the UK. What if she was let back in and carried out a Manchester Arena style atrocity! Has she moved on, can she move on? who should carry the burden of risk, no thanks!
