I wouldn't say he was the best Bond but he was the funniest, good expressions.

R,I,P Roger..Bond of my young era!

"Roger Moore’s Bond was so perfect because he took a little bit of this outlandishness, but still kept it buttoned up in a Savile Row suit. His Bond was both secret agent and roué: the actual business of being a secret agent always seemed a little bit of a hassle set against his true desire to pursue a gentleman’s life of pleasure and general fabulousness."

I cant remember the Bond film where him and a girl are being chased by the baddies and she says ..this way I have a getaway car... the look on his face when they emerge from the undergrowth to find a Citroen 2CV6.

Was it for your eyes only ??

I know Citroen produced 500 or so 2cv6's in that mimosa yellow complete with bullet hole graphics in the rear screen and boot lid.

    Worth a bloody fortune nowadays

... And of course us oldies will remember him from 'Ivanhoe' ... back in the late 50s, for those lucky enough to have a TV.

I for one, do remember the TV series Ivanhoe and enjoyed watching on TV. What I am puzzled by is your picture showing Ivanhoe in color, Color TV came on line in UK in 1969, ask me how I know, so that series would have been in black and white.

Getting back on topic, I did enjoy Roger Moore as 007, in fact I believe that he made more 007 movies than any other actor. For me though the one and only James Bond was Sean Connery.

Yes David, but people didn't actually wear black and white clothes.... so if the picture was taken during filming. lol . :D

    Just a little aside.

When Roger Moore was married to Dorothy Squires and lived in Bexley, Kent, there was a burglary at their home. When the police attended, Roger Moore asked one of the officers for a cigarette when they were outside, out of the presence of Dorothy Squires. He said his wife would not let him smoke. He kept passing the cigarette back to the officer when his wife could see him.
