For the life of me I can not recall you even mentioning your rentals in open Forum; certainly not since I joined three years ago. You have certainly not done any selling here - even subliminally. The only person who has mentioned your business is JohnAsh and usually in a manner subtly aimed to do your business some damage. He really cannot abide any opinion that does not conform to his preconceived notion and I suggest we simply ignore him and his narcissistic hostility and carry on as before.
Actually it's now almost exactly eight years. 24th July 2007 if you want the exact date. There;s a big difference between having information that's bang up to date and information that's dated by several years. Things change here all the time - just as they change in the UK constantly as I was reminded when I visited a year ago.

In 2007 I asked permission from one forum owner for a brief advert in a thread there.. We had absolutely no inquiries from it and I deemed it a waste of time.. To be honest,local adverts are cheap,mostly free and very effective.. It does seem that word of mouth and repeat customers are far far more reliable though.. I have absolutely no idea why John said what he did? Perhaps he has something against me personally? I have recorded/copied and filed EVERYTHING with links for the last two years.. You never know if it will be required for evidence..or not.
Boots and I are members of two other Philippine-centric forums and have been for several years. I have never ever read any message posted by him on here or elsewhere that in any way promotes his rentals and I challenge you to post links to prove otherwise. He and I go out of our way to provide timely and accurate information to help our fellow members. The fact that what we write may not be in accord with what someone who used to live somewhere in the Philippines but left years ago, is neither here nor there. It appears that it is only you who opines that our information is skewed and biased. If you prefer to accept dated over timely information, then that's up to you. But I suggest that most other members would prefer an accurate, up to date account.

It's only been a couple of weeks since you posted a message praising Micawber and now you're being sarcastically-dismissive of him. I have read many of his posts 'over there' and all those he has posted in the last six months. Whilst he has once mentioned some frustration towards certain members of his (extended) family whom he has tried to help, that in no way really impacts on his life nor the happiness he and his wife have found here. He's in the process of building a Nipa hut in the mountains of Compostela Valley and is looking to buy a home here in the city. I detect absolutely no hint of unhappiness in any of his posts which do, I suggest, accurately reflect his life here. And what do his lengthy absences from the UK have to do with anything? He's not the only one: several members of this Forum have also spent protracted periods outside the UK including myself, Methersgate and Subseastu. You make stuff up to support your baseless theories. It is clear to me that you dismiss any message that shows the Philippines in a positive light and accuse the poster of "seeing life through rose-coloured spectacles" and thus of having no credibility. For some perverse reason, you only want to read about the more negative aspects which you claim accurately portray aspects of life here. Some do, some do not. For example you poured scorn over Mayor Duterte's fantastic achievement of turning Davao from being a largely lawless place to the place it is today with the lowest crime rate in the country and regularly voted as one of the safest cities in the world. Your response was to label Duterte as "Dirty Harry" and claim he was involved with the DDS. I challenged you at the time to post links to prove your allegations yet none have been posted. Just to put a point of fairness straight. At NO time whatsoever has Boots ever advertised his rentals on an open forum or solicited busines from anyone on our forum, or on another couple of sites under different aliases.
Yup, that was the extent of it, I remember it. But only because someone was asking about your business and income while there that you posted a couple of pictures, but there was no plugging or soliciting.

Members of my mother's family perished in Nazi concentration camps and others at the hands of the Bolsheviks forty years earlier. For you to compare Duterte to Hitler, or Putin, is an affront and one I find personally highly insulting. There is no similarity between him and Hitler or Putin - other than he may be President from next year. Duterte capitalises on his perceived notoriety and make statements such as that at the Philippine Senate a few months ago. Such is the climate of fear of crime gangs from out of town that they dare not even venture inside the city limits - they take his words at face value. It is, I believe, quite true that there were some vigilantes who supported Duterte who were incensed by criminal businessmen and public servants who were guilty of corruption and who were not dealt with adequately by a then corrupt judiciary. A few of these criminals did have a somewhat shorter life expectancy than they otherwise might have enjoyed. However I have checked and Mr Conde is quite wrong when he alleges that Duterte announced the names of criminals on radio and TV. That did NOT happen. Some here believe that there were one or two active NPA cells who did the deeds; the NPA is known for necessitating early funerals for the corrupt.
