i submitted a copy of the agents details--a drawing of the floorplan i did myself--and photos of each room. together with copies of the lease--and agents letters saying she could also live there--plus an offer to extend the lease for an extra 6 months--as i had less than 6 months lease left.

    Hi Timmers,

Seeing your post, how long did you wait for your wife's visa to be issued? The standard processing time shown in the gov.uk website is 60 days @99% applications decided although it could be upto 90 days isn't it? Is this 60 to 90 day period calendar days or working days? My wife submitted the application on 26th July to VFS. I've counted now 54 calendar days and 38 working days but is yet to receive any response from the application. Thanks and appreciate your response.

For us it was a wait of around 50 working days, if I was you I wouldn't be worrying too much, you will get the decision soon.

Hang in there and good luck :)

    Hi
I just did my spouse visa.
I think you will find that if you submit your visa thru an agent/ someone you pay then they will use that link.
    :)

    Thanks Timmers,

Now we got some relief that it could actually take that long to approve the visa. Hoping everything is alright! Appreciate your good gesture. Thanks a lot!

    Hi all,

I was all nice and calm...but as the time to actually hit the apply button for her ladyship's visa I am getting a little bit jittery...

I understand about the timings/dates/age for documents like payslips and bank statements but how about the council tax bill? I have a current one but it is dated February of this year just before the current financial year. Is that OK?
The same applies to my utility bills as everything is done online, my only originals are months old.
Should I be submitting these anyway?
Is it possible to include documents that are dated after the online application date?

I hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

Don't worry about it, its your financial stuff like the payslips and the bank statements that need to be no older than 28 days at the time of online submission.

For the settlement visa I didnt submit utility bills or council tax statements, its not a requirement.

The utility and council tax bills can be used as proof of address for the FLR(M) maybe that's where you are getting mixed up :)

Council Tax is listed as suitable evidence in Settlement Supporting Documents
    https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...ment_data/file/270197/sup-docs-settlement.pdf

I had chosen to submit council tax statement to satisfy the guidance statement "evidence of any other occupants" or proof of no other occupants.

Neither did we. What did you submit instead of those?

I didn't, just submitted the tenancy agreement and evidence that the home was large enough to accommodate the two of us.

Having said that I may have submitted the council tax bill, definitely did for FLR as proof my wife was living there.

    My memory is going :(

Finally after waiting 45 working days, the wife's visa has been issued! It seemed years of waiting. Certainly for the whole application process, every single day waiting for the sweet "success" seemed years in the making. And you can think of silly reasons for the visa to be refused after each day until you received the notification that a decision has been made. Looks like there were a lot of applications that used the priority service though. =)

Grateful to all the answers received here as well as the encouragement!

Next to prepare is the FLR. Too early but better to be prepared than having issues later on. Can't wait to start our journey here in the UK. =)

Well done, have a break from visas for a while, the FLR is easy, worry about that later.

    Great news :)
