After submission of application and you started to wait, a days seems years, especially when two of the applicants that submitted the same day (both standard processing time) with the wife and they had their decision less than 30 working days (although one of them has been denied). Or other friends who have applied before had their decision within 10 to 15 working days. That made us worried a bit on why it is taking so long. Hence I've asked Timmers how long did he wait for her mrs visa, and he said 50 working days and that gave us hope. Then voila! Unexpectedly, the mrs got a notification from VFS. But another day of waiting so it is such a relief after she opened the parcel and the first thing she pulled out was the correspondence that her visa application was successful! All the stress on waiting are now gone. Ready to start a new chapter in our life!

Hi trimmers..is we going to get married soon here in philippines. Is there anyway that my fiancee can apply a spousal visa for me after we married and he just only retired and just got pension...but they said that need the income of the guy of 18,600£? What if the money us not enough?

    Hope to hear from you...thanks...

One way to meet the financial requirement is through pension (Category E). If the pension is not enough, you can combine it with the rest of the category, if your partner has cash savings that could be use to add to the shortfall of his pension.

Read through the Appendix_FM_1_7 to understand more about it.

As I said he can use cash savings or combine it with other Category. Please find time to read the Appendix_FM_1_7 so you will know what to do and understand the process. Download it and send it to your partner, he will understand it better.

Oh no not mad at all, I've typed that very calmly. :) It depends on how you read it, that's why sometimes people are misunderstood because the way a reader reads it is very different to that of the actual feeling of the sender :)

The reason young Brom is pointing you towards the Appendix FM 1.7 is because that is basically our bible when applying for the settlement visa.

Everyone applying for the settlement visa should read it and understand it, all the information you need is within this document :)

    8. Online payment

Is this the time you can choose the priority service for quicker decision and pay extra?

If you're on the uk.gov portal that would be the payment for the application fee. You can pay the fee for priority service on the VFS site User Pay Services.
