Your in a good place a couple of points.
Wife's employment status and earnings are irrelevant so need to take them along to biometrics( they tend to get funny if they have to shuffle papers.
For now focus on tb screening and English test
Revisit application form check answers and double check

John, The only thing that VFS will do at the appointment now, is take the biometrics, and i believe the application form, they dont scan anything else, now they have to be forwarded on to Sheffield, my wife sent them to me, and i forwarded the documents on to Sheffield, im unsure about this £75 scanning thingy at various points around the UK..

Once you click confirm application you will receive an email confirming your application and what to do next. They will also tell you about supporting documents although they will not give you specific instead they will give you a link which will take you to gov.uk website. Now the process of applying has changed since 27th March 2019. All documents are now to be scanned no hard copies will be sent to UKVI.
My advice during your online application process avail for premium services at the vfs website for your own peace of mind they will tell you how to during your online application ( I regret that I did not avail) they have different premium services it will tell you the specifics if you go to vfs website Like checking of documents and arranging this for you and scanning of documents. The services will cost you an additional P5500 up to P8100 depending on what services you choose. Although there is a priority visa for settlement but this will cost you P38000 plus visa fee. But you have to mail all your documents to your wife via dhl. You can photocopy your passport and asked post office for certified true copy. This is acceptable so you don’t need to mail your passport. Post office can actually certify 3 documents for £10 fee.
    Documents you must provide
There are 9 different barcode separators that you must use during your application you can download this at vfs website as well. Although they will give your wife as well at the time of appointment. The barcodes are standard and some of this may not be applicable to you depending on your personal circumstances.
    1. Sponsor Evidence : Sponsor passport/ ID documents, invitation letter , guarantee/ support letter, sponsor financial documents, sponsor proof of accommodation
    2. Educational evidence : high school and university certificates, transcript, school reports, letters from educational institutions, English test ( NARIC/IELTS)
    3. Financial evidence: Bank books, Bank reference letter, account statements
    4. Consent letter and Proof of Relationship: Sponsor letter from parents, Custody/ court letters, birth certificate, household register, Accomodation arrangements, marriage certificate.
    5. Accomodation permanent/ temporary
    6. Employment evidence
    7.Tuberculosis certificate
    8.Appendix II
    9. Additional documents/Others

There are 3 options for submission of supporting documents.
    1. For a fee you can at any stage of the process opt for document scanning assistance services at the visa application centre
    2. You can self- upload supporting documents without additional charge you should refer to the document checklist you received as part of your online application
    3. Your sponsor or an agent can submit supporting documents in the uk for a fee of £75 per application payable in cash or direct debit.

Now the problem with option 2 is they don’t tell you exactly how to self upload the documents I was not given an option when I applied online. So I can’t give you any advice on this. Option 3 there are 9 different addresses that you can go to but it’s not really clear on how you can make an appointment. Are you just going there without appointment or you make appointment it’s not really clear. It says your sponsor should bring a copy of your passport, along with your documents checklist if you applied via access uk or the first page of your visa application form if you applied via visa 4uk. Your sponsor should also provide supporting documents and these will be scanned and handed back at the time of their visit. I’m not sure if you have to make an appointment as there are no telephone numbers given on the 9 addresses. All I know is you pay £75 by cash or deduct debit. So I think you need to go to one of the addresses but I am not sure how to. So option 1 is still the best option.

This is just base on my experience. You might need to make more research on how to make appointment on option 3 so you don’t need to send your documents to your wife.

I am surprised they have not scan your documents at the vfs centre. Had appointment on April 11 and vfs scan all documents then they return everything except for passport. Then on the night the same day I received a text saying that the visa application for reference number GWF- - - has been forwarded to UKVI. When was your appointment in Manila?

Rose1204, This is a new application for my wife, she has just had a refusal due to various documents being omitted, and several other reasons given, my wife had her appointment in Cebu friday 5th April for her Biometrics. I had to gather further evidence before i could re-apply on behalf of my wife, so all the requirements further evidence were to hand here in the UK.

I’m sorry to hear about the refusal.

I am not sure if your case is exempted of the scanning procedure as this is the second application. But I’m pretty sure everything is all scanning now. See my post above. Also surely after you apply you should receive an email from visa 4uk regarding what to do next.

    Fewer steps, more speed
    PHP 6600

which--at around £100 seems a good deal--especially compared to the rip off prices we pay in the UK for any sort of help.

why pay 6600 pesos when you can do it for free?

Why pay £1000 to a UK solicitor when you can do it free? Plenty do.

I agree. I actually regret that I did not avail the services offered at vfs centre. Now I am worried as there are supporting documents that my sister forgot to include when they separate with the barcode separator and I don’t know how to submit additional documents here in uk if allowed if I’m honest. All I know is once you have submitted the application you cannot submit supporting documents anymore. I am hoping ukvi will contact me to pass additional documents through email. But at the moment I am hoping for the best but expecting more for the worst.

    Just this minute received all the documents back from Sheffield, along with a standard letter saying;
Copies of these documents have been retained by UKV&I in order to assess the application, and as such we are returning the original documents to you. You may be receiving these documents prior to the applicant receiving a decision, this is a normal part of the process and you need take no further action, Should we require anything further from you, we will contact you via email address you have supplied.
In due course the applicant will receive a decision on the application.
So thats everything done on our part, just have to wait for the ECO,s decision now.. everything crossed in anticipation..
Yesterday booked a flight out to the Philippines with "Fly Sharp" going with Oman Air for a total cost of £445 return, with minimal waiting times in Oman.. The question now is when will we receive the decision ? ideally when im in the Philippines, and we are both hoping i will need to use the return flight :D:D.

Thanks "Bigmac" I had been weighing up a visit all week checking out various airlines etc, several times i hesitated holding back from pressing the book now button :D, then when i was walking the dog yesterday morning i made up my mind to go, at that price it would be rude not to ;). Have to say the wife couldnt quiet believe i was going over several times she said "seriously" and then "at last" hahaha. The biggest issue was the timings bearing in mind the application is in progress.
