Thankfully it missed us, it tracked about 30-40 miles south of Manila in the end must have been pretty bad in Tagatay, kids report no damage and that it was not that bad in their experience, I had spent a couple of hours trying to prepare James to batten down the hatches, we were seriously flooded during typhoon Odnoy, and it ruined some really nice furniture I had bought for the house shortly after we moved in back in 2008. I was trying to explain to James that in the worst case we could lose all or part of the roof and that if that happened all the computers they need for school would be lost so if he thought it was really bad he would have to move the computers downstairs again but at the same time I was trying to prepare him for flood making sure lots of stuff would be raised to higher surfaces, we have a wooden couch and the soft couch could be lifted up onto that to protect it from a foot or so of water.
I spoke to someone on siquijor just east of you yesterday, or slightly south-east? They has a bit of light rain
Leyte here (very lucky again) .... not even Signal 1 or on the edge... but we still felt the wind and had buckets of rain
Thoughts and prayers for those affected by the typhoon. Very sad, but unfortunately typhoons are almost a way of life in many parts of the country. One of the several reasons that I chose to settle in Davao, Mindanao. Rarely affected by typhoons or extremes of nature.
Nothing stops the Filipino kids from playing. Same here on Negros, the cool climate of the mountains stops them from progressing. That was the main reason I choose to live here.
