It is all very nice and dandy, but what I hate most, especially while driving, is seeing people wear the darn things at the wheel or crossing roads, listening to music and totally oblivious to external dangers... They should be banned from use in some conditions, just as dangerous as texting or holding a mobile while driving, I reckon... And the worst are bicycle drivers............
I agree in general Dom, car drivers have a choice, there is no real reason for a car driver to wear headphones at all, modern cars should allow hands free phones via the car audio system, hands free is the only reason to wear a headset in a car in my view. Cyclist's yeah big stupid Darwinian mistake to listen to music while cycling however at least that one will over time be self correcting
I like to listen to music when going to work, but getting the bus or the tram it seems like about half of everyone does it.. I do look out for traffic when crossing roads.. But yeah, if a car mounted the pavement behind me I wouldn't know it until I became soap!
