My wife finally went home for a holiday, and had to get the PCR Fit to Fly certificate before departing LHR. That was a quite a palaver - it is always best to plan ahead, but in my wife's case it rather fell to pieces. In good faith we booked a local pharmacy to take the test, and only received the result a few hours before she flew. Had a bad night thinking that she would be turned away at the airport.

Flights to the Philippines were very highly priced and she had to pay something like £970 to fly one way to Cebu, and she took Singapore Airlines. The feedback she gave me, were that the airline was giving very small meals. My wife flew in the morning, dinner was served on the plane, and the next meal was breakfast. Therefore lunch was cut out - an immediate loss of a meal. On landing in Singapore very little time between arrival and departure, and all the Filipinos were complaining about the small portion of food that was supplied for the flight from Singapore to Cebu.

On arriving in Cebu all arrivals were tagged, with vaccinated, vaccinated overseas yellow, with 5 nights in a hotel, and them there were those that were for 14 nights. She went off to Capital Hotel (Bayfront Hotel Cebu Capitol Site) and she complained that the meals were too small. My wife is not a big eater. On the 6th day she was released, she then visited the stores she needed to, and then took a ferry home.

By contrast all the OFWs were housed in the Henry Hotel, the more expensive hotel courtesy of the government.
