@oss. If I insert a photo on here as an attachment is there a way that I can change the size of the displayed image?
I think the forum resizes accordingly(reduces if overly big). Edits generally need to be done prior to insertion. There is also a file-size limit if uploading.
I used an app called 'reduce photo size'. It doesn't change the physical size, it reduces the resolution so I could advoid the 1mB upload limit.
Thanks. I use a mac and photoshop. I just wondered if the render size could be adjusted in the HTML. I have never posted any images to the forum before. But since this is a photography area and I enjoy photography I thought I might share a few images. Oddly enough though, the picture above is one I like and I didn't even take it using my proper SLR. Just a phone. Just goes to show that the best camera you have is the one that you have with you at the time.
Yes. I agree. I spend most of my time trying to catch a photograph of someone when they aren't expecting it - or at least - trying to get them to look like they aren't expecting it. That's very kind. I like that one. No it was just my battered old HTC one phone spur of the moment picture that wound up being much better than I expected.
It will resize down to the standard forum limits but as Paul says that's it. Flickr provides multiple sizes to link to so I tend to pick an image with particular dimensions and use that, mine are links rather than attachments.
Yeah it's an excellent picture that captures the moment and is still fine even though missing critical sharpness, great pictures are taken by the photographer not by the camera, although it is nice to have the quality when you want it.
So to round off my morning foray into my photo archive I've added another. For those interested this was taken using a 50mm/F1.8 at sunset in cebu.
Looks like you used a bit of fill as well? I'm guessing a Nikon speedlight (or built in flash) as they are particularly good at providing extremely well balanced lighting. Nice shot.
Ah your a Canon man same as me, I have two 580 EX guns the mark I and mark II but I don't use them all that often, artificial light is not my strong suit Although when I do use them I always use a big Lumiquest bounce certainly makes you stand out in the crowd
I seldom use flash - mainly for fill. Oh - and first picture above was not taken by my phone. I couldn't find the picture in my archive so I assumed it was my m phone but now I found it. It was actually taken using my SLR. I just screwed up the focus a bit because it was at F1.8. All this talk about photography gear is going to overload the non-photographers out there.
