There are a few legendary tracks on Clockwork Angels. These guys have blown me away since i was in my teens..... They are the daddies of progressive rock!!! I will let you know in time if my good wife gets into it.... I am counting the days now until she arrives

LOL I did wonder if that might be the case. And yes, tapping into the forum on a mobile phone, after a couple of pints, can be a bit challenging. :D

Just asked her. The conclusion is Power Windows is possibly the best one to introduce her too as it'sthe most catchy. She also likes YYZ. :)

Maharg, I could speak about RUSH all day and night.... They are simply legendary!! They really are the Daddies of Progressive Rock!!!!! I was thinking the way to get rush into her system was to start on something softer like Power Windows or Roll the Bones!!!!

Yes John.... Guilty as charged!!! You and everyone here have been nothing but help and support to me and in this conversation "
The intricacies of living with a Filipina" I have it all to come.... I have lived with my wife in the Philippines but not here in the UK. Myself and my wife have a lot to learn yet i guess.

Perhaps I am still in the honeymoon phase, I know I rarely argue with Joy, but I think that's because we're both pretty laid back sort of people. We've had tampo (which I then use to play video games and that annoys the hell out of her), but only once have we had what I would call an argument, which lasted about 2 minutes of back and forth followed by several hours cooling off and a make up cuddle in the evening...

One more funny thing. My wife hates it if I sit at the table with my elbow resting on the table, with my hand then resting on my head or face.. I do this all the time! And last night I had a migraine headache so was literally stroking my head with her asking me to stop doing that... :D

Just enjoy all the free time you have because if you are lucky enough to have kids then you won't be able to think straight any more.
I am not complaining about having kids because they are so adorable, but challenging at the same time.
My wife has just given me the changing mat and bag with nappies and everything else inside.
    What fun!

Religion is a bit different. It isn't really Christianity as we were taught to understand it; it is more like animism. If you don't placate the spirit world, Bad Things will happen. Kay doesn't actually believe a word of it, but she tends to placate the spirits anyway, on autopilot. Statuette of Mary, bottle of "Holy" water, etc.

My wife has no statues, despite being a strong catholic. Just a rosary chain.

Ha ha. Me too, but I think we'd bore everyone else here to tears! Definitely my favourite all time band.

I frst got into them when my brother bought Closer to the Heart, and first saw them in 1979 on the Hemispheres tour. They lost me a bit in the late 80s as i felt they became a bit generic, but are definitely back to form with Clockwork Angels.

Getting Mrs M to like Rush wasn't such a big step as she was already into The Scorpions and Whitesnake, and also liked Journey (because of Arnel Pineda).

I know, I am sure of it Maharg... RUSH is never a hot topic here.... That's why when lying in bed and seen your post I thought I have to put things straight...
    They really are the Daddies.....

Your a lucky man to see the Hemispheres tour in 1979. I was 8 years old and getting into my first band "Madness...

It took me many hours a day and about a full month for me to really nail the first track on the bass.

Hemispheres must have drained the life out of them for a while.... Its legendary!!! A true masterpiece

Getting Mrs B might not be such a task as she is into Journey and the Scorpions.... I was thinking to start her on "Roll the bones" or Counterparts. From there things only get better....
