The judge has reinstated the murder charge against the officer who knelt on Floyd George's throat.

Police officer Derek Chauvin should have the cell where the key can't be found.
I hope the USA make an example of him.
Biden had a very good black vote in the presidential election so the killer won't get an easy ride.

    just my opinion.

If he is found guilty--for doing his job--what sort of message will that send to the law enforcement services ? And to the section of society that rely on the police to do their job and protect them.

No, no, it's a showcase trial, following procedure for restraint or not he will still be found guilty, George floyd's drug-flooded system, heart problems etc count for naught, America wants, demands blood, someone has to be sacrificed.

true--it is a showcase trial--thats why he has to be found not guilty--of murder. He was doing his job--doing what he was trained to do. He was restraining a known criminal..it happens all the while.

It certainly wasn't murder, he didn't knowingly kneel on Floyd's neck thinking it would finish him off, probably some level of manslaughter that's going to make all but the most redneck yeehaw LEO tread on eggshells for a while till Floyd becomes just a memory.

Your view :) George floyd had history, violent drug addled thug, but it's history, the past, all the judge and jury are concerned with are the events of that day.

One knee on the ground, one on the neck=not full body weight :like:

This medical examiner's report does not mention asphyxiation. However, according to prosecutors, in charging documents filed last week, early results "revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation."

The medical examiner's report also details blunt-force injuries to the skin of Floyd's head, face and upper lip, as well as the shoulders, hands and elbows and bruising of the wrists consistent with handcuffs.

However way you want to look at it, that police officer killed that guy. That is unacceptable.

I never mentioned strangulation as cause of death blocking the jugular vein by compression of the neck for a length of time would be enough to do it

Even with the knee on the ground shifting your body weight to the opposite knee would give you full body weight on the knee.

Did the cop mean to kill him? No, did the cop through his actions result in his death? Yes.
The cop knew what he was doing would cause harm and distress he was aware his prisoner was telling him he could not breathe he should of checked, he chose not to.

Have you actually watched the footage? At what point does he shift his bodyweight to the opposite knee? I just watched it and I can't see that, so where did you get your original "full bodyweight on the neck" from? And where are the bruises on the neck from the full bodyweight placed down on it?

Just because he had "history", he should not have been murdered because of it.

George Floyd cried out many times that he could not breathe.
    Then he died.
The police officer was as guilty of murder.
