Time to clamp down on rent to own?

I couldn't believe this when I watched the news article below, paying £3000 for a £300 washing machine is just ridiculous. The Government has clamped down on money lenders and they certainly need to clamp down on the people charging extortionate amounts of cash for rent to own.

Makes you think really, I suspect most of us on the forum can afford to just go out and buy a washing machine, sofa or any other household item, I feel for the people who have to go the rent to own route I really do.
