Compare.com and Travel Supermarket give you a wide choice of insurance policies, if you have a pre existing condition then you will pay a premium, probably not much though, depends on the condition.

Check if your bank does it free with your accounts. Lloyds do.

NatWest offer insurance too but only basic, its worth inquiring, the main thing is that bigmac gets covered for his condition.

The "free" insurance is only applicable on a chargeable account like the platinum account. I'm talking specifically about Lloyd's here

Travel insurance covers you for losing your camera(*), missing your flight(*) or having a minor accident(*), not for routine medical treatment.

As mentioned in another thread I now pay £3,000 per year for my worldwide fully comp medical insurance, so £148 sounds like a bargain, but will not cover routine medical.

    (*) Many exclusions, apply.

Yeah in theory it covers your camera and other personal electronics, but in practice I doubt they would cover my camera kit most of my actual valuable single items like lenses are over the policy limits usually, I only get travel insurance for the medical emergency cover these days.

My preferred insurer is LV, when it comes to insurance price is not the driving factor but knowing that the company is actually likely to pay out when it comes to a claim is far more important.

I used JustTravelcover.com for my insurance but not sure about the cost with medical conditions.
