    In summary:
    1. Backup Your Data: U.S. authorities can seize devices indefinitely, so make secure backups and consider wiping sensitive files before traveling.

    2. Check Your Phone Content: Customs officials are allowed to search your phone. Avoid having controversial or sensitive content, especially criticism related to U.S. policies or officials.

    3. Memorize Trusted Contact Numbers: In case of detention, visitors may only have one phone call, and devices might be confiscated. It's advisable to memorize the number of someone trusted and ensure they have access to your home or belongings.

    4. Turn Off Devices Before Travel: Turning off devices strengthens security against password-cracking software. Consider disabling FaceID or TouchID as well.

    5. Have Emergency Funds: Be prepared for unexpected situations like booking last-minute flights home if denied entry.

Wow, I don't think I'll bother, seems a lot of hassle, almost a state of paranoia.

    You forgot:

    6. Leave those tariffs at home.

    Not rocket science!
1 and 2 we never take our current smartphones with us on holiday, use old unlocked smart phone with pay as you go sim( generally for the country we are visiting)
3 we have a trusted neighbour who watches the house he has the new sim number we have his number. He also has wife's sisters number and one of my sons number in case of accident or escalation of concern
4 nothing on the phone to get at,
5 always have gone on holiday with a zero balance credit card just in case, 3 digit security number on back of cards obliterated so cannot be quoted.
    Happy holidays

Been doing it that way in various forms for a number of years now!
Certain irony over the Trump caps https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna198814
On a number of Face book groups specific to the area we are going and nobody who has been and come back has reported any issues across the board.
As always I believe it's how you plan and conduct your trip!
We have a full itinerary and looking forward to it!

Oh God the girls have just researched this!

Las Vegas is getting a Filipino Town.
It’s located just minutes from the Strip, on Maryland Parkway between Desert Inn and Flamingo.
This area is already home to Jollibee, Seafood City, Kusina Ni Lorraine, and a bunch of other Filipino favorites. So it makes sense that it finally has an official name.
Filipinos make up the largest Asian group in Nevada. Now there’s a district to celebrate the culture, the food, and of course, the karaoke.
From lechon to lumpia, welcome to Filipino Town. Vegas style.

I lived there for many years and will never be going back.
It's OK to go for a holiday (vacation) but that's about it.
When I was in Baltimore on the Eastern seaboard, I asked many men at the bar I used to frequent had any of them been held up at gunpoint. I can't remember exactly as it was many years ago but at least 50% said they had and some of them had a gun put to their head more than once.
There were so many murders in that city, I'm surprised I used to go out!
I used to regularly see peoples' possesions on the sidewalk for anyone to take what they wanted.
It is a brutal society. If you're in tourist areas you will probably be OK but it only takes one nutter with a gun to
    cause murder and mayhem.
It is almost impossible to dodge a bullet.

Especially now that racism there is on the rise.
If you're not a full-white American, chances are you'll be harassed or mugged.

I have lots of relatives there who are Filipinos but born and bred in the US.
They now have to bring their passports and green cards at all times.

They also don't use the NY subway/tube anymore coz of the rising crimes.

But yeah, holiday it is still a good destination especially with the declining dollar rates. But to live there, is another thing.
