In a strange way, Brexit could be a great way of solving our climate emergency. Less flights, less shipping, less immigration, less of everything. We're on to a winner!

On a serious note, why are we importing asparagus from Peru or grapes from South Africa? This madness has got to stop. Years ago, some foodstuffs were seasonal, and we lived with it. Now we expect strawberries all year round. This rampant consumerist culture is ruining the earth, in more ways than one.

Long sea voyages by sail to the Philippines without engines until getting into port.
Just the job to relax, well apart from the storms and big waves.

Around six months via the Indian Ocean or a bit longer via Cape Horn (can't use Panama Canal). A relaxing voyage? Hardly, you'll be caulking decks, repairing lines, splicing eyes, replacing halyards, sewing new panels onto sails by hand - and all before the morning smoke! Engines in port? For what - the ship has lines, you have muscles!
