@SameTH wow it sounds so easy to get a tourist visa. Yes, I am trying to have a bank account, however my colleagues told me that the bank would require a copy of work permit and I'm currently processing my papers. Do you know any bank that doesn't need a work permit? I read online that it may also depend on the branch you are applying to. May I clarify of what you mean by "they didn't require booking reservation and picture? Are you referring to the accommodation when I get there?
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am weighing things at the moment and hearing from you is a big help. Hoping to get your fiance visa sooner

@SoldierRJ88 I appreciate the kind offer. Do you have anything else to suggest aside from what our friends said? Thank you.

    1. Banks always require work permit , so hopefully you will sort it out , anyway you need to show your work permit when you process your visa .
    2. As soon as you get your bank account , make sure that the amount and the spendings are consistent. Example if you get 30,000 as salary (in cash ) make sure you deposit it first before spending it. In my case I put my savings gradually in my account plus my partners money. Then I used he same card for my spendings.

    3. Some applicants provided a dummy ticket / flight reservation. Recently (June 2018’application )they didn’t really ask for it , they just based your time of arrival in the UK on your application and VFS will ask you that question when you submit your documents to confirm .

    4. Taking a photograph in a studio is not really required because on your submission date , VFS will get a digital picture that will be used for your sticker . Last time I went To the studio at trendy building G floor , the staff told me that for UK tourist visa , it’s not required .

    5. Confirmation of your accomodation is important , that requires documents from your sponsor , he has to provide Council tax , bank statement , employment letter , Cover letter ( explaining that he will support you in everything therefore shall no recourse to public funds ) , copy of deeds.

@SameTH I've checked online and Bangkok bank can allow you to have a savings account, however an employment letter is needed and I'll be working on it tomorrow to get one.
Anyway, is it necessary to file for a tourist visa 3 months before the planned holiday?

Thank you for the clarification and additional information.

Yeah , with employment letter might work, oh yes ask the school to vouch for you. Yes you can but I suggest for you to do it February so you get 6 months pay slips. As for my experience it took one week to get a visa decision.

Sorry to hear your experience, savings can be tricky , as for my experience I always make sure that I transfer my money from my savings account to my salary account gradually so it won’t be obvious that I transferred a big money and they won’t think that it came from my partner . I also used my card for daily transactions . However , there is a box to fill in the last box about ‘add information to this application ‘ - i usually add and explain things in that box just to clarify and attach the same info in my cover letter .

I am hoping that I can open an account soon. If ever I'll have an account this November, by January I could have 3 months of bank statement, would that be fine or the minimum is 6 months?

    Thank you for the suggestion.
