Just noticed in my browser the URL at visa4uk website is saying 'Not secure' (https is crossed out) - should I be concerned?

If you're talking about Visa4UK - Foreign and Commonwealth Office which is where you start the process (by registering an account) then it most certainly is secure and its address does begin with "https". Please be aware that this is a new website.

OK - I wonder if, after you sign in and start your application it moves to a non-secure page? Maybe I will contact V4uk support...

But you would appear to have "signed in" or so it would appear from what you wrote here earlier:
Maybe the difference can be accounted for by you accessing that site from two different geographic locations such as Douglas and Liverpool for example.
