One has to be patient with anything concerning the Philippines... Covid 19 doesn't help...

First spoke four years ago Xmas Eve, she's been over three times and me over there once, Got a wedding booked at Notts City Hall for January, will have to see if she makes it. This site has been a god send.
At what part of the process will she be able to fly out the UK for a holiday ,after FLR ?
    Thanks chaps

Think not supposed to leave after FLR submitted until granted.

Think can come and go until that point if necessary

Then you have to get Shenzen visa
From the country you're flying to,and get her passport changed so no problems at airport etc.

Don't have to change passport. Can continue to use maiden name and BRP in maiden name after FLR.

Takes time to get new passport if done in UK. Assuming can get appointment at embassey seem to remember it was a two month wait from biometrics to getting passport. Can't confirm that as wife still using original from philippines.

If change passport then have to get new BRP in new name before can travel on new passport which I believe requires a BRP biometrics appointment or at least it did pre-covid.

If you want to go travelling and on time limit then suggest do it on old passport.

We have travelled with my wife using her passport in her previous name, just ensure travel tickets travel insurance etc is in her passport name not your name.

I seriously think changing the name on the Passport is more trouble than it's worth until she has citizenship!

Wouldn't this make the re-aquiring of Filipino Citizenship slightly more akward ??

The Embassy has a definite aversion to facing a fait-accompli.

But that is only me throwing the slightly negative approach to Filipino bureocracy.
take ticket and sit down to be called, and then observe how any bing-bong, lyn-lyn or joe happily walks directly to the desk and start an interminable conversation that requires the arrival of the bloke in charge.
Hand stamping, tickets, more tickets, payment slips and receipts, that stapled here, this stapled there, barrowload of photocopies..........
When my wife needed to renew her passport, she was asked rather rudely by a woman at the desk why after 10 years in the UK, she was not a British Citizen yet.
After me stepping in, I thought they were going the chuck me out of there.

She will need a Schengen visa for the country you intend to visit, normal rule is apply for the Schengen visa for the country you are going to spend most time, however it does allow for short trips to other Schengen countries ie A visa for Spain because you will spend most of your time there but you could o in France, Portugal etc. Virus permitting
