£310 has been raised for the Taylors now. This means that I am adding another £100 to the pot and £410 will be sent over to them as soon as possible from the users of this site.
Excellent news. We Brits, despite being a nation of moaners are at least very forthcoming when it comes to helping those less fortunate than ourselves. Long may it continue.
I spoke with Gerald today over the phone and advised him of what we've raised and what I'm sending to his bank account. He has expressed his sincerest thanks to everyone here who has helped raise money and as well to everyone keeping them in their thoughts (and talking about them). Hopefully, this will all come to an end soon. And who knows, the help the British government are extending to the Philippines might even help diplomatic efforts to speed this trial up.. Who knows? But this money has come at a good time for the Taylors, just as when their expenses get a bit much..
Really ridiculous that they are still in jail but glad that we have been of some help, sadly I will not be able to get over there this Christmas so I will not get a chance to visit them.
I did not donate for this cause, so I am not "everyone" I have a wife and two little kids to support on one income. I think it only honest to make this point.
No problem Mike, I did not donate a lot this time either and for similar reasons. Also last year I wanted to visit them but even though I was there a long time I did not manage to do so.
