I do not want to seem callous but I won't lose sleep over what Duterte is doing, or alleged to be doing. We, like many others, do have relatives in Philly, and as walls do have ears, I won't be drawn into a debate.
I have just returned home from a Filipino Christmas party here on Gozo (Malta) which was attended by around 100 Filipinos, some are married to Europeans, most are single. It was clear that almost all of the (Filipino) attendees voted for Duterte even though many of them have been here for several years and have no plans to return home, although I'm sure they all have friends and family there. In spite of all the extra-judicial killings, Duterte remains very popular here - even amongst those who voted for Roxas.
