I really like samsung but it was reports of the amount of "bloatware" on them (and their size) that finally put me off. I'm sure there's a way of removing it and rooting the phone so it becomes more efficient

I have Sony Xperia Z3. An offer from Virgin and sold with Sony Xperia Z3 tablet in a bundle. And i have to say I'm really happy with this phone and I can recommend it to everyone. As a phone it's doing a good job. As a camera it's making really good pictures. To be honest it surprised me how good they are because I was getting used to the fact that pictures from the phones are little bit crapy. My previous phone was Samsung galaxy note 3.

And most, most important is that I can have it always with me everywhere. Always with you and always ready to make some pictures. Swimming in the sea? I can take phone with me and I don't have to worry leaving it on the beach. You want to make some pictures underwater? No problem. The phone will be happy to assist you.
Really, from the day I have this phone this is a "must have" feature for me now. I was always swimming with my phone and my girl, done some photos of us in the sea, some photos of corals and sea life underwater, plenty of fish and jellyfish, etc.
I'm really, really happy about that phone.

IPhone 6+. In an expensive waterproof and shockproof case that I bought from a firm in California, because I use the excellent and cheap Navionics app to navigate my boat using my phone - saving the cost of a chart plotter more than justifies the cost of the iPhone. I find the regular size phones too fiddly.

Samsung S6, just replaced my Note 4 with it.

Lost my Note in France a couple of months back when it decided to exit my Kit Car on a French motorway doh!!!!!

Getting an iPhone 7 soon but not really into Apple gear to be honest. My Samsung J5 is far more preferable rather than some closed device that you dont have full control of.

I use an old iPad for navigation, also in a waterproof case. Bit easier to see in a rough sea.

iPhones all the way. Never had a single issue with iPhone 3, 4, 5 or 6. Everything syncs perfectly between all Apple devices, iPads, MacBook etc.

Is the battery life commendable? Never had an iPhone. Always been a Samsung user. Thinking of switching tho if partner permits :D

    Hi Brom
Always difficult to compare battery life as it depends so much on the user. I am using my phone all day for work, some Facebook browsing in the evening, occasionally for Google maps when navigating around town, pretty much average use I guess. I charge my iPhone overnight and I have never needed to recharge during the day.
Samsung are fine phones, current battery issues aside which is hitting Samsung very hard. My asawa is using Samsung and she prefers it to her iPhone, finds Android easier to use. Horses for courses I guess.
If its just a standalone phone, many models will fit the bill, for me the biggest issue is compatibility with all my Apple devices, iPhones, iPods, iPads, MacBook Pro and Apple TV.

Yeah you're right it depends on the user. Actually both me and my partner use Samsung. I complain of its battery life but my partner doesn't since I am a heavy user and he only use it for calls and texts and litlle bit of browsing so I find myself charging it again and again during the day while my partner only charges it overnight.

I might try an iPhone tho and see how it's battery life compared to that of Samsung. Although I agree Android is very easy to use and I might struggle to start with on an iPhone.

Try re-formatting it. Usually does the trick. What model is your private jet? I have read on line some users reporting compatibility issues with some Jets, Boing are usually OK but not sure about other makes. ;)
