Yesterday my cousin was about to fly to Dubai with a visit visa... She was stop in the immigration and didn't even lay her foot in her plane

They are strict now in NAIA about immigration especially with visit visa holders. More documents to produce like authenticated ID's from sponsors. If they are implimenting new rules about this they should have given a time frame and let everyone know about it. Waste of time and money specially to those who are coming from the province.

I just can't understand why they are strict to those leaving PI, I wouldn't be ranting about this if she was stop in Dubai immigration...

Yes, my cousin will use visit visa to find job in Dubai. If the government stop corrupting and focus in giving unemployed people nice jobs most specially to those newly graduates, they wouldn't try their luck in other countries.

And it won't be bad for us coz they will be sending money to their families rather than be a burden to our poor country :f:

Before you stop Pinoys leaving PI stop those Koreans migrating to PI first!!!

One reason that I can think of is that the Government is trying to make sure that the people are safe enough and not just embarking on an adventure after which they may well be sorry for.

Arab Nations are famous for mistreating, abusing, beating and raping immigrants. Forbidding them to practice their religion, or wear crosses, putting them in jail for just that...

With a visit visa, the Gov, has no record of that person going somewhere to work thus making it impossible for that person to access consular services if anything goes pear shaped and needs help.

Why do you think the vast majority of visa overstayers never go to consulates or embassies...? There may be a chance that they may be repatriated...

Yes, I know it is expensive, upsetting and maddening being turned away at the departure lounge, and also for the lack of information for which Phil is famous for.
But you have to think that your cousin could have been saved from real harm by that action.

Too many naive girls leave home on a wing and a prayer, looking for that magical job abroad that will turn the family fortunes around, and then fail miserably because they were not ready for the step.

    Always extreme caution.

    I understand your point Dom.

Philippine was known as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world and one of the richest country in Asia, following Japan. Now it is just so sad how poor we are... That's why many Pinoys leave our lovely country :(

My cousin will be in visit visa and stay with my other cousin who works as a Flight Stewardess in Emirates. If she is lucky to find job there, she will exit Dubai and wait for her employer to process her working visa then.

My mum used to work as an OFW in middle-east and told us her experienced she was nearly rape by a young muslim. That's why me and my younger brother asked her to stay in PI. At a young age I started working and lucky me I'd work in real good companies and paid me more than the average wages in PI. So as my brother managed to be a working student and finished university as a scholar. All for my Mama :)

After some of the stories I have read and been told (from a friend living in Dubai) about how Arabs treat Filipino workers - especially women.. I would rather work 80 hours a week than allow my mahal to do something like that:(

Sorry to hear about your cousin Chryss, I witnessed that kind of issue when I flew last time from Manila to UK via Dubai. Some paid about 5k at airport just to skip and go. Others use escort and you'll be ok.
Not sure about the system these days but they might strict because of some reasons.
If they are strict to protect our countrymen, then that's cool and great.
Not all our countrymen can easily find job in Dubai. There are huge number of filipinos there who are still unemployed.
It's risky so maybe our government is doing that for their own protection.

I agree ate Penny, my cousin will just try her luck and just want to prove her parents she can work. She's newly graduate and she's my uncle's unica iha. Even she won't find a job it's fine, sustentado naman sya :)
She just want to see Dubai and if lucky enough maybe she can find a job there like our other cousin as a flight attendant. Dubai is not that bad unlike Jordan.
My brother used to work there as an Engineer. Two cousins now working in Emirates and the other one in a company as a secretary. It is just difficult if you are working as DH coz they will treat you different...

Korek! Dubai is such a beautiful country and I believe there are many filipinos working in the office. I have some friends working in IT, Personnel Department and Engineering Dept.:like: They help their relatives by looking jobs for them first then fly as tourist. Those DH are mostly came from far province.
My brother is working in Jumeirah and he's enjoying his job and wages as well.

    DH is really no good.
We have millions of workers at Middle East and let's face it,
OFW's helps our country and their family a lot !:like:

I don't think our government is strict eversince.
There were many filipinos who used escort at Naia airport before.
Some corrupt accepts money and let them fly.
Sad to say we have thousands of DH that treated bad in Middle East.
This should be stopped by the government.:(
