Do you mean the Thai restaurant in Greenbelt? :)

That one is rather special for me, it's called the People's Palace, Colin the guy that owns it and the Sala Bistro next door is a Scot, apparently a very gay Scot, but he is a brilliant chef and runs some great restaurants over there.

The "People's Palace" :D I had great fun explaining to the waiters there that their boss had named it after a Glasgow glasshouse :D

Colin Mackay, I first encountered the Sala in 2005 and had probably the best (western) meal I've ever had in the Philippines and excellent wine.

Sayang hindi siya pumusta. Pang-pustahan yung ganyan. Hahahahahha...

He wasn't wise enough. If it was me, I would have bet for two thousand bucks that I could do it.
I would suffer anyway. At least I would earn something after the agony.

You have to very careful with these super hot chillies they have the potential to damage your stomach.

Oh and be careful what you handle after handling them too :D

In addition to having a spicy-hot flavor, hot peppers may also cause a short-term rise in body temperature accompanied by sweating. Many people complain of stomach irritation and heartburn after eating hot peppers as well, so you may wonder what kind of damage hot peppers do to your digestive system. It may come as a surprise that hot peppers, rather than harming, may actually play a beneficial role in helping to protect the stomach.

No It wasn't in greenbelt. There is a Thai in the glorietta as well (or there was in August 2015 anyways). There used to be a better Thai in the glorietta just on the first floor near to Jollibee but now its closed and its a pizza place.

I've been in a Thai restaurant in Glorietta years back probably that first floor one but I can't remember exactly where, Thai is not really one of my favourites though, I prefer the Chinese restaurants in Manila which are usually exceptional value, and my real favourite over there is Korean cuisine, plus I would miss a good curry if I were there all the time and unable to get good quality ingredients i.e. spices and fresh coriander in order to make my own curries (cilantro is hard to get in the supermarkets).

I guess I am lucky as we have the bee farm here..They grow just about any herb you can mention.. They even supply the malls here now with things like fresh Tarragon, coriander,Parsley etc.. Spices like Cumin,Tumeric and mustard seed are easy to find on the supermarket shelf..
The only thing missing and worth putting in a BB box are poppadoms.. You cant get the correct flour here.. I make my own Mango chutney and chili pickles..So easy..Loads authentic of recipes on Youtube.

If in Manila there is always the Taj Grocery..

Yes plenty of herbs growing on the bee farm, nice morning visit there. Doesnt quite live up to its namesake though as they only have a few hives on-site. I guess they must have more of them in favourable flowering locations.

Wow thanks for that and I've just discovered that Google has now published it's street view for Makati at least :)

    https://www.google.com/maps/@14.562...IR4tBsPESBPg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1?hl=en

I will visit that grocers, although on a bad day it can take 2 hours to get down into Muntinlupa and the same to get back :)

Turmeric and Dhania are the hard ones for me to get currently in Metro Manila, particularly whole Dhania seed which is essential for a lot of my curries, ground Jeera I've seen on the shelves and mustard seed as you say.

Can you get fresh Spinach leaf over there? If not I guess the Taj would have tinned Spinach, I make a very good Chicken Saag.

The other thing that is hard to get in Manila supermarkets is good natural yoghurt.

McCormick sell turmeric in small jars or in large aluminium packets in most good malls along with the most popular dried herbs.. You can source good natural milk and Yogurt in Manila from Rizal dairy farms..
They sell their products in different locations or you can get it all direct from the farm.

    Not sure about the Spinach..
Also well worth buying a few large pots and grow your own herbs from seed.. The herbs I am growing have done great and the local pests have not touched them..That is very surprising to me as they destroyed my cabbage and lettuce crops over night.

You must be a good cook, Boots.

Except for my mum and myself, no one in my family likes Indian food.

My auntie even hates it. She hates the smell of curry and spices.
She even said that if you continually eat Indian food, you'll smell like an Indian.

Aburiji, that's what she calls it. Hahhahaha...

Typical Pinoy racism, I would say. lol.

My favourite Indian food are Dahl, Chicken Tikka Massala, Biryani and that milk in syrup dessert. I also like chutney, pita, yoghurt, etc.
    I love Indian food.
