The only country I would ever consider is Canada, great people and a great way of life.

Never really thought about it but maybe New Zealand. I think it has a lot to offer.

Canada looks good though I have never been there. I'd like to give New Zealand a shot, a compromise of lower wages for a better lifestyle and more laid back than many western countries.

I would divide my time between Iceland and Miami.

If you enjoy the outdoors life, Iceland is amazing. Cheap frozen pizza, too. Just give me a pair of hiking boots, a mountain bike, a boat with fishing rod. Perfect.

A place which is about as safe as you could possibly wish for. Beautiful blondes everywhere if the visa falls through.

Winter months would probably be spent in Miami or somewhere in South Florida. I'd need a nice gated community.

If I had to choose somewhere in Asia, it would be Singapore. No doubt about it.

The wife's sister has been in NZ for many years, I may use that as an excuse to go over there one day, another of the wife's sisters is moving to Canada soon too so I might pop over there too.

Is it obligatory to take wellies with me if I go to NZ? :)

If you ever go to Canada then Niagara Falls is great, highlights the power of nature.

We can dream a little, I love the UK and wouldn't go anywhere else :)

Can't enter the country without a valid visa and Wellies I believe :)

I'd see NZ as a home from home I suppose.

If I was a millionaire I'd be travelling to lots of places, predictable and obscure locations would be the order of the day.

Obscure is always good, especially good for pleasant surprises :), I've always put emphasis on what the people are like in a country and not so much the surroundings.

You can buy Wellies in New Zealand just as you can in Wales - and the sheep are just as friendly!

I have been to New Zealand, several times in fact during my seafaring days. But alas the only sheep I came into close contact with were the dead and frozen carcasses we transported back to Europe; Wellies not needed! A good friend of mine in Wales is a sheep farmer who moved from New Zealand and who thought that there was far more "life" in sleepy west Wales than on South Island NZ.

If I'm a super rich person, I will go to Tuscany, buy a villa and maybe start a vineyard. It's sunny and I won't freeze.:D Plus, the wonderful landscapes is a bonus!:)

Not travelled that extensively as some on here but I felt perfectly at home in Newfoundland. Nice people and stunning scenery.... although I drove for hundreds of miles (on two visits) and never saw a fecking moose! :(

Perhaps somewhere in Scandanavia - their social model is much more egalitarian than what our politicians serve up.

But basically I'm a homebird - I've two daughters in their 20s and couldn't bear to be too far away from then here in Bonnie Scotland!:):)

What will you do Gerry when they decide to fly the coup? With one daughter and her family in UK and a second daughter and her family in Australia, Philippines suits me just fine, being roughly halfway between the two. Having a Filipina wife clinches it. Even without family considerations, I would choose SE Asia. Having travelled to most countries in that region, Thailand was top of my list until I lost the bar that I was building on a beautiful beach in Phuket in the government coup 4 years ago. So for now, Philippines it is. That is until I get fed up with that and decide to try somewhere new. That would likely be somewhere in Central America, always fancied Costa Rica.
