Your lot seem determined to engage in a race to the bottom mate :D

:D They were destined for the WEEEE waste until I recovered 2 undamaged ones. The Axis also have I/O socket so have hardware connectivity should one wish. So a myriad of uses when connected to a Raspberry PI for example in conjunction with Windows 10 IoT

Thanks for your explanation oss, some of which I understood and some of which I didn't :)

I do distinctly notice a huge difference when opening for example some links on the forum that are full of advertisements (Daily Mail link is one), the page then takes forever to load. I sometimes click to page down and the page hangs because I have not waited long enough for the adverts to download, bit of a pain really.

I like the term "rant over" :D

Well I finally upgraded to Win10 today :) It was painless and as I only had 9Gb of SSD left so wasn't sure whether to bother or not. Fear not as the space increased somewhat after the install, seeing that the new version of OS footprint is smaller than my previous installation, so I'm happy. Now have an office full to upgrade prior to the end date

BT also have/are upgraded/upgrading their basic fibre package with an increase in speed for all customers (52MB). I just done a speed check (via Wifi)

You have a windows.old folder on your c: drive you can save more by deleting it if you are happy you are not going back to your old OS Paul.

Don't let your SSD run close to full, that state significantly reduces its lifespan, what make is the SSD?

Yep the .old has already gone Jim. All the company s/w drivers are W10 compatible so no looking back at W7 :)

Yep the SSD has been running a while with just 10% space remaining, got just under 20 now. Not great but they should've got me a bigger drive in the first place :D

Samsung SSD SM841 shipped with this latitude E7240 which isn't a great performing SSD.
