A quick update on the speed of transfers, can't remember if I have already mentioned on this thread but it turned out that Metrobank transfers are as close to instant as you will get now, about 2 or 3 minutes, however other banks seem to have gone back to being slower transfers taking a day or more, there also appears to be a limit of about, but not exactly, 20,000 peso, above which the transfer gets stalled and can take a week or more. Still consider them to be excellent all round!
The data protection act ensures companies keep your information secure, and when you call them to discuss something, they should ask for 3 pieces of information. Though, you might have done so without realising if you went on a rant to the agent and in the process gave them 3 very personal pieces of information.
Hi folks! I'm working here in Korea and I would like to send some money in the Philippines. I have some issue with Western Union so I am finding some other ways of sending money with less hassle ( given the fact that I can't speak korean). And I believe online would be the best solution for this issue. Glad I came across in this wonderful forum. I wonder if its possible for me through this agency and if not, can you give some suggestions what other agencies would help me most. Thanks alot! P.S: I will use debit card for the transaction.
Use World Remit; I find them very good and careful not like Western Union. their web page is here: https://www.worldremit.com/en/Philippines
Sadly WorldRemit deos not work in South Korea, you can neither send nor receive money. The list of available countries for WorldRemit is on their landing page https://www.worldremit.com/ in the top right hand corner, just before the login link it shows you the country you are in, South Korea is not on the list I'm afraid. For what it is worth my estranged partner is working in South Korea I think she has no choice apart from Western Union, as a South Korean citizen she was able to use her bank account to send money back to the Philippines in the past but she might not have a new Korean bank account yet.
I have used Moneygram to send money to Cambodia, where World Remit do not operate; they are OK. http://global.moneygram.com/kr/en
Thanks a lot for this info! Yeah, I check World Remit website and there's no option for South Korea. But folks, have you heard about Ria Money Transfer? Do you have any idea if this agency is a scam or not? Your generous reply would really help me much. God bless.
I'm very new to this forum. Well I thought I was until I filled out my details. I was a member from way back but forgot! It's refreshing to see some basic grammar & spelling for a change!!! I'm on a lot of what are mainly American forums & it difficult to understand what is being said.
