Can you pay direct into a bank account with them?

Yes a large variety of Philippine banks, Metrobank is an instant transfer or almost instant, it takes about 2 minutes, other banks it can be up to a few days.

I have used them for several years, to the point where I had sent so much that they were obliged to vet me to confirm, who I was sending to, why I was sending it, why was it so much etc.

They are a good reliable company in my expeience and opinion.

Had a look at Azimo earlier. to send £200 to a Bank Account was a 2.99 fee and an exchange rate of 72.755. So, for 202.99 the receiver gets 14551.2 php.

Western Union, to do the same, is no fee, and an exchange rate of 73.147. So, for 200, the receiver gets 14629.49 php.

So Western Union beats Azimo by quite a bit.

World remit wanted me to register first, so I didn't try them. Perhaps someone who is registered could look up sending £200 to a Bank Account. might be interesting to compare.

What version of Western Union are you looking at mate?

Those robbing ba**a***s are not known for not charging fees?

edit: I just checked WorldRemit without logging on and they told me what the rates were no problem?

WorldRemit would pay out 14446 today for £205.99 including fees, overall transaction would cost a little bit than that with todays 50% off fee's offer.

I just checked my Western Union account and I can't believe they are doing free transfers to Philippine bank accounts with the spot Exchange Rate only a tiny fraction off the published interbank rate and with no fees even for a payment by credit or debit card?

Are they doing a special this month or something?

Just checked again if paying by card on WU "Some credit card issuers may charge a cash advance fee; for information, please check with your issuer.", but I guess you would be doing the bank to bank with faster payments option?

No we used her Debit Card. The faster payments caused us problems which is why I was interested in maybe using others.

I don't know if it's a short term thing as I don't normally do it myself, but we did it together earlier because a payment she tried yesterday failed after being initially passed.

Definitely no fee though, and the best rate of the three. Or at least it was today, anyway.

It's unheard of for WU to be that cheap, all they are making on that deal is 0.4 peso on the pound, if they are still doing it mid August then I will switch (after running a small value test) no matter how much I hate the thieving ars*****s.

I guess you can tell I have a long history with WU, a £200 transfer would normally cost you almost £220.
