I have been living in the fair little city of Wrexham in North Wales for well over 25 years, and never before I have felt such a buzz of excited optimism like in the last 2 years.
That is, since Hollywood took over for mere 2 mill quid the local Wrexham AFC Football Club.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McHelenny have led the city Footcal Club to the cusp of winning the National League for the automatic promotion into the Football League.
We are top, with 4 points ahead and a game in hand. If the number 2, Notts County, looses the early game today, then we will be winning without kicking a ball..
For years I have followed the few fortunes and many misfortunes of the team, I was there when Micket Thomas scored that wonderful goal that sank Arsenal in the 1996 FA Cup competition. And I was there, when Wrexham played my childhood team Roma that had my home town celebrity on board in Bruno Conti

The atmosphere in town is electric, nothing but a sea of Red Footie t-shirts, scarves, hats, everyone busy trying to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood celebrities co-owners.
The two, are more or less regulars at the Racecourse ground, and after the success of the Disney+ documentary "Welcome to Wrexham", the wold wide appeal of the team has surpassed Liverpool, Manchester United and whatever else is out there. The Team will be playing Man Utd and Cheasea as warm up games in the US during the summer.. And judging by the current form, I am sorry to say, Chelsea will be a notable scalp that will be taken...
Again, and again, I haven't been able to secure a ticket, as they were sold out within a couple of hours from release. Every home game is a full house. 10k+ supporters. The construction of the new Kop stand will add another 5.5k. The oldest stadium in the world will again host Wales for games..

I would not have him back at any cost.
Great player indeed, but not a single managerial bone in his body.

It has always been about money, Davey.
Some teams use money wisely and others don't.
My team, Everton, are one of the clubs who did not spend money wisely. :(

Can't Notts County still get back into the football league via play-offs?
    Is Notts County your team?

Yeh i think notts county will go up as 2nd place... But if you go up first place you get a
Lot more money than 2nd place

Nah... Im a port vale fan... Again.. A team that doesnt spend a penny on bringing any players in... All loans... And most are out of contract this summer who we have perm... Just about stayed in league 1 after yesterdays win... Amazing what sacking a manager does..as yesterday was some of the best football i have seen from them all season just in that game..

    Wrexham this morning..
Alcohol fumes dissipating fast, hangover a yesterday thing, Everyone able, back to work.

Life as we know it is getting back to normal.

The title, in my opinion, was not bought.

The management, in their search for the talent needed, did not promise riches to anyone or wild salaries.

The players, like the manager, were asked to help a dream come true.
They all refused single game win bonuses for a one and only promotion "tied" bonus.
They all worked their cotton socks off for it, and and it is well deserved.
There is no one in the whole Borough/County of Wrexham that begrudges it.
In view of the success, I just hope that that our best players are not tempted by the higher leagues to move on
