I am contemplating about writing an email to my local MP to help follow up on my FLR M application from the Home Office as I have been waiting for more than 4 months now. I received a Covid delay email at the last week of January. However I know some applicants similar to my timeline and even from earlier this year have already received their visas. I also don’t believe that my case is complex.

Please can anyone share some tips in writing a letter to the MP? Should the letter come from me or my British citizen husband?

I have also recently moved house so my address is now different. I intend to notify the HO but I am still waiting for letters as proof of my new address. To those who have recently received their visa, did you get a notification text or email from the courier with the date and time window for your brp delivery? I am planning to just go back to my old address and wait outside for the delivery. I just hope they give a 2 or 3 hour window so that I don’t have to wait outside all day.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

What address did you put on the application form ? Old or New!

I used to know my local MP and her staff reasonably well and she helped out on a number of immigration cases. The team regularly received things like cakes and flowers as a thank you from constituents that they had helped.

I don't think that it will matter whether the letter comes from you or your husband and it doesn't need to be particularly formal either. My MP was very much down to earth and so were her staff.

Just stick to the facts and dates and ask for their help.

    Good luck.

I used my old address in my application as we did not expect the delay to take this long.

I think you may of created a bit of an issue for yourself as the only address UKBA is your old one!
A couple of questions spring to mind to try and help you, I think your MP would ask the questions so if you do write to him it would be best to look at the belo first and try to resolve!
When you moved out did you arrange with whoever was in control of you leaving the property Estate Agent/ Landlord for the new occupants to let them have any mail for you to forward onto you? The BRP may of already been attempted to deliver and returned as not known at this address, if this is so then UKBA will be concerned. Can you get hold of the occupants and ask them?
If you are applying from the UK, then you should receive a letter or email that confirms that your application is approved. Once approved, your Biometric Residence Permit should arrive with you by courier within 7 - 10 days of receiving your decision letter. As above the letter may of been delivered to your old address and you are non the wiser.

Thanks @Mattecube for your response. I realise now that I could have used my new address as my correspondence address for my application but I did not know back then about the delays.
My old address in unoccupied at the moment. We registered a post redirection with Royal Mail but apparently BRPs are delivered by TNT courier.
I made the application in the UK so I am counting on UKVI to email me when my visa has been approved and for TNT to notify me about the delivery schedule of my new BRP.
Btw I now have managed to update my address with UKVI but I am not sure if that will make a difference.

Hi Roseanne J , the courier that delivered my new BRP was TNT but I haven’t receive any text or email from them , they just turned up. I think it was 2 days after I got the email that my visa was granted. I hope you will receive yours soon x
