Another killing, with a gun, in the US...

    It sounds so normal now.

I like guns, but I'm up for gun abolishment now for the US, given a say, since they clearly cannot control firearms possession and there are so many gun-related incidents these past few years.

    22,938 Suicides (Gun used)

    14,415 Murders (Gun used)

of which 71 died in mass shootings a tiny percentage 0.492542

So basically as long as few people die by gun shots, let's keep shooting people?

I think he is just highlighting the fact that this is front page news whilst the “normal” (single shootings) shootings and suicides by gun is an accepted norm in the states. Sad but seemingly true.

Recall Trumpy criticising the UK for all it’s stabbings? Of the two evils I’d rather have stabbings than all of the out of control gun nonsense. Too trigger happy and even the police will shoot before assessing situations.

Yea it’s ludicrous for him to even suggest it but he’s all smoke and daggers.

When I lived in the US, I had a very good English friend.
When owning guns used to dominate the conversation, he used to ask them why they liked killing their children.

You could have heard a pin drop.
He used to drop little thought-bombs like that and he was far too good in conversation afterwards to be outwitted and could give them answers without them having to go to their cars for a piece.

An interesting point is that the people being aluded to are of European Caucasian stock (from Spain) or perhaps latinos are not white enough

Sorry I am a little confused, Keith.
Are you indicating the border guards or the immigrants?

Haven't researched the true number of shootings under Obama, but there are plenty more mass shootings under Trump than your attachment suggests. Unless a mass shooting needs 5 or more deaths before it's considered serious enough. Astonishing the amount of incidents with just a couple of victims in the body count that don't register in the news.

I've long come to the conclusion that Americans are so obsessed by their macho guns that they view a few dozen dead school kids every year as an acceptable loss. Maybe over the course of a year it's between 50-100 who get shot up at school? We accept a certain number of deaths will occur every year due to our cars but the benefit to society outweighs the deaths. Same applies to Americans and guns.

I just say Thank Christ that the yobs in London can't buy guns in Argos. Give me a knife crime epidemic any day of the week.
