Laugh out loud, BigMac. My surname is Bowler or pretty close to that. I do not know a JohnAsh. I live and work in the UK. My wife is a Filipina. That's it. I am not sure what the Irish Sea has to do with anything. And I do not use a VPN.

Why comment on Brexit when the poll is about Duterte, tantamount to attempting to hijack the thread again to peddle your Brexit views yawn yawn.
Any Filipino who may wish to comment probably won't and that's the forums loss!
    Also not fair on Andrew!

There are remoaners here who STILL cannot face reality o_O
More importantly, our wives, fiancées and girlfriends are Filipinos and the wives are probably becoming less interested in Filipino issues as they live in the UK year on year.

Like many misguided countries, hard drugs should be dealt much more severely than soft drugs. Also, alcohol is the biggest demon of the lot and profit/taxes to governments keeps people beating the living daylights out of each other every week.

Disagree to a point as many have friends and families in the Philippines and surely many maintain an interest,,however will we ever get a real feel as many don't post for concern of ..... well all that's going on in another thread.
What is interesting is that the 2 options I asked to be put on have the highest poll.
I must have my finger on the pulse.....of what though not sure.

I don't know many Filipinos in the UK but if my wife is anything to go by, cooking is far more important than politics.

There are, however, a surprisingly number of Filipino members many or all of whom will have noticed this thread.

Sen. Gordon must immediately file complaint vs Trillanes with the Senate Ethics Committee

Antonio Trillanes' obsession with President Rodrigo Duterte and his family needs to be stopped as it is already interfering with the vital work of the senate. The whole nation is now being held hostage by one man's megalomaniacal delusions. Trillanes is a menace to society. How long will the senate allow him to drag the institution through the mud just to satisfy his personal vendetta.

Sen. Richard Gordon has said that he will file a complaint against Trillanes before the Senate Ethics Committee and move for his expulsion.

We now urge the good Senator to make good on his threat, and do the entire nation a public service by removing Trillanes from the Senate in the same manner he left the Armed Forces of the Philippines- in utter disgrace.

    I didn't see any replies.
I would like to engage in conversation with a Filipino(a) who is as politically motivated as the electorate who voted for Duterte.
I doubt if I will in the UK and the chances of doing it in the Philippines is more remote as the years pass by.

Anyway, even though many of us have a connection to the Phils by way of marriage to a Filipina, our thoughts about politics in the Philippines are mostly inconsequential.

I have met a lot of Filipinos in the flesh over here that I often pose the question to in a light hearted way. Most support Duterte but not all. I have had some funny encounters as mainly they are surprised that I know about him and of course most Brits do not. And whatever the answer there is always copious laughter to go with it.

I don't meet any Filipinos in the UK as I work too much.
The Filipinos I met in a previous life working overseas always seemed so charming and non-confrontational, in fact politics never seemed to enter into conversation.
I was quite shocked to see such a different leader take office recently.

I maintain a correspondence with a circle of Filipino friends.

    Two recent gems:

"Pray for our President: Psalm 109, verse 8"

    and my favourite:
