Hi guys! I hope you still remember me! It's been so long since i posted here in the forum, I think after I got my fiance visa I wasn't able to come and visit you much here in the group . Anyway, I'm here now in London with my wife and I just got my FLR(M) visa and just want to share to you the process we've been through. Appointment: September 6, 2017, 8:30am Type of service: Premium Home Office: Croydon Visa granted: 10:00am 1 and 1/2 hours total duration FLR(M) form Photos Appointment booking checklist Payment confirmation I. Applicant's Documents - Passport - Certified Copy of Birth Certificate - English Language Certificate II. Sponsor’s Documents - Copy of Passport - Birth Certificate - Confirmation of Employment - P60 for the last 6 years - Payslips for the past 6 months - Bank Statements for the past 6 months III. Proof of Marriage -Marriage contract -Photos IV. Proof of Accommodation - Tenancy Agreement - Letter from the Landlord - Council Tax - Utility Bill (water) - Photos of the flat - Flat Layout V. Correspondence -2 Joint -3 Applicant -4 Sponsor Some Notes: 1. We initially wanted to apply by post but due to some issues in our accommodation we had no choice but to get the premium service. Our tenancy agreement was about to expire on Sept 15, 2017 so we asked the landlord if they could send the new contract early with my name added on the contract. We have already paid the referencing fee and sent the necessary documents for the process. However, upon learning that my fiance visa was about to expire in a few weeks (on Sept 19, specifically) they were unable to give us a new contract. They need my visa to be valid at least a year before they could give us one. I asked my good friend the visa expert @Brom27 for help and he advised to get a letter from the landlord stating that he will issue us a new tenancy agreement once i get my FLR(M) visa. Thankfully, our landlord was very kind and signed the letter that we asked him to sign . We actually wrote the letter for him and just had him signed it . 2. I didn't expect that we'll get the visa in just 1 and a half hours! When our number was called I really thought that they will be interviewing us regarding the issue in our accommodation, but when we got to the counter they handed me the letter and said something about the BRP ID which I didn't understand. I was still in shock! All in all, I can say that the 500 pounds that we paid for the premium service was worth it. I was really expecting that we will be in the Home Office all day waiting for the result but we were able to get the visa in just a very short amount of time. Now, the next step for me is to look for a job to recoup all the expenses we've incurred for the visa!
congratulations on getting your FLR.. you will get the brp in the post in a few days. good you werent there long--ours took 5 &1/2 hours last may at Croydon. just a note to anyone else reading this---if youve got your fiancee visa--you can apply for FLR as soon as you have got married--no need to wait for your 6 month visa to nearly expire. that way you can get your NI number when you get the BRP--and get a job if you want to.
Congratulations! Regarding our FLR - finally received it today after several mishaps including it being posted to the wrong address, the accompanying letter says visa is granted for a further 2.5 years - all good except the passport has been returned unchanged, is this normal?
The passport would not be touched- they dont stamp it or anything. The home office will send your wife a biometric residence permit (BRP) which is plastic card like your driver's license a few days after. That info should be in the approval letter from the home office.
Ahh yes - that makes sense, only the BRP didn't show yet, they sent the passport to the wrong address on the 2nd of September I wonder if they sent the BRP there too...
@katkatmachine congratulations on gaining your Visa! i was wondering if you will be able to assist me as I am currently putting together my Husband FLR application which I will applying for in November. 1) for the proof of Relationship it asks for 6 joint documents each for two years. for the first year of our relationship, we were living at my parents house, therefore, we did not pay rent or any bills, and did not have any letters address to both of us. In this instance, what proof can I submit? I unfortunately do not have any letters such as NHS letters or others for the 1 year. I have odd letters here and there for example: - DVLA (one letter - Jan 2016) - Electoral (one letter - June 2016) - bank statements (in both names addressed to us separately) - National Insurance (for the tax year 2015/2016 - April 2016) I will be very grateful if you can advise me on what else I can add to cover the first year - OCT 2015 - OCT 2016 2) I need a previous landlord letter from my parents confirming that my and my husband both lived at the address before we moved out in OCT 2016. Do you have a template letter I can use?? Also, do I need to submit any evidence to show it is their house? such as utility bills? or council tax bill? Please can you advise me and I am a bit confused with the whole process. THANK YOUUUU
For the proof of correspondence on your first year, you can get letters addressed to your parents house and get them to write a letter that you lived with them for that time. If you read the guidance on the FLR form it is stated there on what you should do if you are living with a relative.
Hi everyone, just preparing for the requirements for my 1st FLR-M. If we use cash savings, can I use my Philippine savings (Peso) and combine that with the savings of my fiancee partner to achieve £16,000? If we receive additional cash gift from our relatives, does it have to be in our account for 6 mos before the application? Thanks in advance for your help!
Thanks @bigmac if we receive cash gifts for our wedding we won’t be able to use it as it will be less than 6 mos. Does 28-day rule for Financial documents also apply for FLR?
Hi. I am completing my application FLR (M) after fiancee visa. As I followed other threads, most of the members applied in premium service. Our concern is we will apply online so payments ( visa fee £993 + NHS £500 ) will be straight forward. Then, will we print the application pack and send it to Croydon together will all other documents? Thank you for guiding us. Really appreciate your help.
You don't send it to Croydon you send it to this address: Home Office Leave to Remain - FLR(M) PO Box 495 Durham DH99 1WR
Thank you brom! So even we will not opt for premium service, we can apply online instead and send all the completed form and supporting documents by post in Durham? We are using credit card so we prefer to prepaid all the fees.
Yes you can apply online and pay all the fees then once you are done you can submit the documents to that address.
