goodluck! I think they are all "pasalubong" for the family and relatives. We have all those in Phil. But when someone gives something from abroad, Filipinos tend to feel excited and touched of the giver's thoughtfulness. Pop down to a Home Bargains and get a Luggage scale costs about £1.50, not the digital one just the dial with a strap that you use to lift the case and the dial gives you the weight, they are very accurate, far better than your wife paying huge excess baggage charges. Most airlines are pretty strict these days, I myself am packing and weighing tonight, bloody complex trying to get the best balance particularly when I have to carry the work laptops in my carry on allowance.
I'm taking two large HiFi speakers , plus my Cambridge Audio amp in my baggage next trip. Chocolate ? No chance. Priorities... .
Mica has just visited. Her luggage was over 40kgs when she arrived but only 17kg when she left... I think she is moving in by stealth.
Seems a bit like taking coal to Newcastle, the supermarket shelves are groaning under the weight of Spam in the Philippines. They even have a special Philippine inspired edition: Tocina Spam If you want to save umpteen kilos of excess baggage charges then start by offloading the spam. You can eat it for breakfast!
Toblerones are the same price there as here, as are Ferraro Roche. My wife also takes over loads of toblerones. When I had a bar of dairy milk over there, it tasted completely different and inferior. Didn't try a toblerone though.
