Healthy eating should also be combined with some form of exercise,just got in from a walk, am thinking of doing 20-25km a day along the Thames.
Many people are unable to exercise in the way you describe. And also many people find that unless they do a lot of exercise then what they do has no impact. I do agree exercise can help but only if it is of sufficient intensity and duration. Taking the dog for a walk for an hour isn’t enough for most who are obese. I have spoken to a lot of obese people and they are not able to exercise in this way. I have also met a lot of obese people who are physically active in their job but cannot reduce their weight. They remain obese. It is their diet that they should be addressing. Mrs Ash does a stiff workout for an hour for a couple of days a week, however the biggest improvements will come from nutritional changes.

Describe it as a cult of you wish. However it is helping patients to extend their lives, improve their lives and reverse their health conditions. It also saves the NHS a packet. It is inevitable that it will become common practice nationally. It has started to happen at my own GP surgery now. But it only works for the willing. The unwilling either remain on drugs, reach the end of their lives prematurely or resort to surgery. It is becoming a case of patient choices. It reminds me a lot of smoking in the decades gone by. Low carb cake straight from the oven, served with creme fresh and strawberries. Delicious. The cake is made with almond flour, eggs and sweetener. Pork adobo, with fried asparagus, mushrooms and fresh avocado. Minced chillied beef and veggies, mushroom and grated mozzarella. All very tasty, filling and low in carbohydrates.

You can buy low carb products. Meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, nuts etc along with low carb veggies and fruits. The Aussies do a low carb spud but we don’t. Most manufactured foods such as cake, biscuits, pasta and bread etc etc are made with wheat products and sugar. Some entrepreneurs are starting to make low carb breads, cereals (granola) cakes etc but they are expensive so much cheaper to bake ourselves. I bake every week now, mainly at the weekend using either coconut flour or almond flour and not wheat. If I want pizza I make the base with almond flour. @Aromulus my home made pizzas taste great.
but with all the pressure to change lifestyles and diet--i went on a doctor-referred course to manage my lifestyle to avoid developing diabetes---then surely there will be a demand for ready to eat low carb stuff. after all--we've had zero sugar coke for a long time now. and to think years ago i was told by a dietician not to eat peanuts! and as for skimmed milk--yuk.

Do you think 7mph is super fast? It's average, I do a little slower in a gym on a treadmill with a steep incline, I always work on my cardio and legs.
Yeah. Average walking speed is about 3mph. Race walkers often walk about 5.5 to 6mph. World record for 20km is not far off your time.. You have talent. and looking at your figures again 24500 steps in that time averages almost 5 steps a second. Your legs must be a blur of speed. That's why I asked if you were running. I hasten to add I'm nothing but impressed.
I am as skinny as a whippet and constantly try to keep my cardio fitness up, I was supposed to be spending an extended period walking in the pyrenees this year but covid put the knockers on that, do a lot of high altitude trekking when I can.
