I wouldn't be hanging around cemeteries, your game Witches Island the Spanish nicknamed it I thought it was brilliant. Did you try the U Story Restaurant, was very impressed.
No, the U story restaurant wasn't open back then, on that side of the island there was only coco Grove and that beach down a track where you could jump off the rock stack cliff into deep water, it's changed massively.
Same here. I went into the cafe then saw that a door opened into the disco, which seemed to be quite busy. A "GRO" (guest relations officer) latched onto me within 15 minutes and she was shocked when I scarpered quite sharpish.
I sat outside the pizza place having a meal off to the right about 15 years or so back?I saw the old mama-San and her few girls. But I used to be in Dumaguete fairly often from early 1990's to early 2000's and the place always had a rep for prostitution.
I actually know a guy with an interesting history who until 3 or 4 years ago was a diving instructor on Apo, he is back in the UK now with his family.
Changed a lot since then, Mayor of Dumaguete got rid of those and sent them back to Cebu City along with the badjaos.
Badlao's in dumaguete were a pain, every morning a pick-up truck with about 9 or 10 kids in the back would go in the streets begging, and in the evening same pick-up truck would take them back to their homes. Suppose not all Badjaos are bad just poor and desperate.
A few years back, i was mortified to see them taking a dump on the boulevard in broad daylight (as maybe restos around wouldnt allow them inside) now we hardly notice any the city govt is busy with lots of infrastructure going on and a big reclamaition project on the way (P23B Smart City on the boulevard area) but not without local opposition so could take a while https://news.abs-cbn.com/spotlight/...billion-land-reclamation-project-in-dumaguete
