I know. Sweden have used vitamin d supplements for some years. That appeared in a post of mine a few weeks back along with a video.
In that video they point out that the benefit gained from vitamin d supplements decreases with obesity levels. This has been known for quite a while. And a number of sources say exactly that and have done for quite a long time. The Fat Emperor points it out in one of his videos.

Fantastic. Dr Aseem Malhotra is fighting for the nations health and doing very well at it. It’s a challenging aspiration and he is one of the best if not the best man for “the job”. Here at the Public Health Collaboration conference 2019 at the Royal College of General Practitioners he interviews Tom Watson, who was at that time still deputy leader of the Labour Party. I find Tom Watson quite entertaining but above all he is bang on with it all including his assessment of why it is that the nation is in such a state health wise. Listen to the bit on Cocoa Cola...but it isn’t just Cocoa Cola I have just joined this crowd (PHC - The Public Health Collaboration is a registered charity (No. 1171887) dedicated to informing and implementing healthy decisions for better public health. Could be described as a cult. But this “cult” is in the process of providing training for General Practitioners (GPs) across the U.K. through the Royal College of General Practitioners - which is ongoing.
If I had children here in the UK, I would be doing the same as you John, I would still be working at home, because I can, but I would certainly still take my daughter to school. I suspect that I take a far higher dose of vitamin D than you do but you have read the science and the obese like me require more vitamin D due to fat solubility so I think my strategy will have helped at least a bit. I already spend my food budget on the right food (apart from beer and wine which are definitely the wrong food) and that £200 number is just speculation, jumping the queue is against my principles and I've stated and made it clear here, all I am saying is that given the choice if I could start the vaccination process privately tomorrow then I probably would whether it cost £50, £200 or a £1000, and yeah that makes me a hypocrite because I don't believe anyone should be able to jump the queue and the one thing I am glad for is that this one time it will probably be impossible to queue jump, I would do it yeah but it would be wrong. One last thing immediately after Christmas I will stop all alcohol, there is substantial evidence that alcohol could completely neutralise the immune response to the vaccine so I will quit for a couple of months again, this thought had been running round my head for a while but I've recently read some supporting evidence. Recommendations are no alcohol for three days after receiving a vaccine dose, personally I would extend that to prior to receiving the vaccine as well as after and for good measure right up to and for a few weeks after getting the second dose and maybe even longer, while I like a drink I am becoming much less attached to it as I age.
Beware. The vaccine is good for Covid19. But not for other viruses. However a healthy immune system stands us in good stead across the board.
What vaccine anywhere is effective against other viruses than the one it is targeting, MMR for example is a combined vaccine not a single vaccine that protects against the three illnesses. My father used to say that any bug that ever bit him died, that was just the bravado of a tough WW2 veteran, he would force himself to go to work when he wasn't well so as to keep up the illusion and given that he worked in a hospital that was probably not the smartest thing. Eating healthily will help improve a persons immune system, exercise will also help, it's really about taking a holistic view, there is likely no single factor that is a magic bullet, but in the end the individual has to want it, to want change in their life.
Exactly. So going full circle. Don’t wait for the vaccine. Take note of which countries and which people are dying from Covid (rather than which age group) and note that the Covid pandemic is actually a pandemic of unhealthy eating. No magic bullet but if your immune system is healthy (which it won’t be on a lifetime of the wrong dietary choices) then you stand a much higher chance of immunity to various strains of this virus or others. (We have already seen the evidence.) The 21 day immunity plan is saying that it takes about that amount of time of strict dietary change to improve the immune system. That’s not really very long is it. Then sustain it. We still don’t have the vaccine. And yes, it is designed for Covid19. And may be of no use against other mutations or other viruses. A strong immune system is probably a good idea. If it means giving up beer for some people then that may prove to be the wise choice. The choice is ours to make.

There is indeed. And there always has been and there always will be. The point is, if ones immune system is inadequate (through eating the wrong food) then we don’t acquire the immunity a health person would possess. The virus is exploiting the metabolically unhealthy. This has been said many times on here and the evidence is littered all over the forum now. The point is: This virus picks on those that are metabolically unhealthy. I cannot put it any plainer or to the point than that. Has your book arrived? It explains. It is the whole point of the book. The British Medical Journal (BMJ) refers to modern day obesity as an obesity epidemic or pandemic (if global). https://www.bmj.com/content/370/bmj.m3084/rr-1 But it is being used quite prevalently now in this way. Obesity is seen as a disease. It is a global epidemic = pandemic. And has been caused by unhealthy eating for the last 40/50 years. Did you watch the movie I posted a bit about, called Fat Fiction? £2.49 to rent on Amazon Prime. It is a massive eye opener. Many health professionals and psychologists refer to the expression “carbohydrate addiction”. Consider this. Alcohol addiction is recognised as a disease. So we can consider carbohydrate addiction a disease also. That being the case we have a pandemic.
As a footnote to the post on the 21 Day Immunity book, the author has just today been elected to the Fellow of Royal College of Physicians for his work and contribution to medicine.
I'v wasted the last 30 years of my life eating low fat meals including skimmed milk. My cholesterol level was about 5, the doctor said I was in good shape and couldn't believe my age, that was 3 years ago, since then I have lost a few pounds. I have explained to my wife about the keto diet and what food she needs to give me, her reply bad timing do it after new year. Suppose she has a point.
