Welcome to the forum Bill, I think you may have to rely on the good old physiotherapist or chiropractic if you've got a bad back or similar, you never know though you might just get lucky
Hi Timmers, so I'll have to wait til I go back to the RP? Shame, I was hoping to get some experience in the UK.
I'm guessing that only London or a major city are the only places where you likely to find anyone from the Philippines offering this kind of service. You never know, try a little Googling if you have not already done so.
The thing is 'hilot' is a traditional practice which is handed over within families, mostly women to their daughters. I can only compare it to the old style village midwife here in the UK where the knowledge are handed over without proper training from schools. So theoretically, a typical profile would probably be a grandmum of pinoy expat looking after her grandkids here in the UK and wouldnt be allowed to practice her skill and knowledge unless its immediate family or very close family frends. That limits your chances of finding one. Goodluck and if you find one, let me know as well. Hilot is still better than spa massage, if you ask me.
I doubt that Hilots are allowed to practice in the UK..But you never know! Way things are going it might soon be available on the NHS.
I am assuming it's like Traditional Chinese Medicine, in the sense that a "qualified/Certified" practitioner would be able to practice here.
