if you have the sputum tests--the results take 8 weeks--then--assuming the all clear--you will get the certificate straight away. but May is too soon for you to apply for your visa. you will have to wait till you get the certificate.

Thanks bigmac..... you're right in that we found out about the correct order and will do it after we get the visa. She just passed her TB test and is sitting her IELTS Life Skills A1 in a few days from now, so ticking off all the boxes........

I did the counselling first because it is also a requirement to update the status of ur passport to married then once visa is received u just need to get the sticker before the flight.

Me and my husband (Filipino) currently resides in Abu Dhabi. I would like to go back to the UK and I want to bring him with me.

Anyone knows how to apply for a spouse visa for him from here?

Or is it better for me to go back to the UK first and do the process from there?

You will have to go back to the UK first, set up home, get yourself a job paying at least £18,600 pa and then apply for settlement visa after you have accrued six months worth of payslips.

Im going to apply for the spouse Visa maybe somewhere between Dec and Jan time, I have to accrue the 6 months payslips but im worried that the Government will change the threshold of the financial requirement especially with the living Wage being introduced..Im wondering if there were changes to come will it be forewarned or will the Government just revise the current financial requirement and change it..Im a patient person so dont feel an urgency to bring my wife over, I wanted to decorate the house and deep clean the house before she comes and I didnt want her to come over in the middle of winter..I just wanted to time it right , so she will feel comfortable

I wouldn't worry about it too much if I was you, my theory behind that is because the Government had a hard time implementing the £18,600 requirement in the first place and they have recently introduced the NHS surcharge so I think they will be happy for now. I personally think that the actual visa fees and the NHS surcharge will keep creeping up but I would be very surprised if they up the financial requirement for quite some time. Also if we leave the EU then the Government will be able to limit immigration for EU citizens and lay off non EU immigration for a while.

Just my thoughts on the matter nothing more :)

the visa fees have just " crept up" by 25 % !!!!!. i cant imagine the gov being so stupid as to kill that lovely little earner by increasing the sponsorship threshold-----which puts NOTHING in the treasury--but could well lose-- £ millions ?? in lost visa fees over the coming years.

have we all added up what the 5 year settlement will cost us---in return for which our spouse gets NO public funds for the 5 years---in spite of all the NI and income tax they are likely to pay.
