The Home Office’s citizenship test is riddled with mistakes and ridiculous questions. Here are some of the worst. https://www.thecanary.co/uk/2018/04/20/the-home-offices-citizenship-test-is-riddled-with-mistakes-and-ridiculous-questions-here-are-some-of-the-worst/… via @TheCanaryUK
I would suggest you might wish to select your reading matter with a little more care: the Canary is known for its far-left biased fake news.
That is your opinion. if you doubt the ridiculous questions asked i will upload 12 and why not take the test yourself to see that this is not fake but perhaps inconvenient truth for you to ponder. Why not buy the Home Office guide which includes such.
Doesn't change the fact the test is out-of-date and at least some of the questions are ambiguous or, even worse, unanswerable...!
This maybe correct however your post above is a tad biased or did you meaningfully neglect the comment that the HO is looking at the test to strengthen it and make it more fit for purpose.
If you read the book, take the test and answer vebatim you will pass the test. Once you have completed the test I doubt that many could recollect, say a year later those same answers if they were questioned again. The test, correct or not is simply a barrier, an attainable barrier at that, the content of which will not stop you passing if learned.
I often see Canary stuff coming up on my social nedia feed, and it just total nonsense. An attempt at far left propganda that is so blatant that it fails to hit the spot. The test is fine for what it is. You read the book and answer questions on it. That's it.
I won't be holding my breath, given the Government's abysmal record on making so many of its policies 'fit for purpose'...!
If you wish to engage in political point scoring, would you please do so in the non-public section provided for the purpose.
The OP has a valid point and so does Graham and UKDJ. On the flip side, my other half took this test and just like the driving theory test she got her head down and sweated and swatted and got the result she needed, first time.
What you often find is those posters who aren't getting what they want in the instance that they want it,or those that don't fit the bill will often blame the system.
Of course those people will blame the system. Who else should they blame ? I am getting what I want, thanks. I will be moving to the Philippines for good, later this year. I wouldn't want to bring my wife here anyway.
The Canary is telling lies anyway. I just checked the official book my wife used for the test and it says Margaret Thatcher (1925-2013). By my reckoning that doesn't make her still alive.
