No. The percentage rates of success for settlement visa applicants to the U.K. They used to be quite high.

Not sure how good these stats are:

“According to Official Statistics, during 2007-16, a total of 1,497,456 Decisions were taken on in-country settlement related applications. As many as 1,416,657 applicants were granted Settlement in the UK and 80,799 applications were refused. Accordingly, the UK Settlement Visa Refusal Rate during 2007-16 was 5.40%. The in-country settlement refusal rate was the highest in 2007 (9.75%) and lowest in 2012 (3.06%). Accordingly, most settlement applications were refused during 2007 (13,481) and least during 2012 (4,101).”

But they are in keeping with my understanding on those figures.

So that’s a refusal rate of 5.4% over the course of time. That’s approximately a 95% success rate.

Anybody know any different?

@UKDJ If these figures are correct and applicable then any one individual couple stands a great chance of success, providing the application submission satisfies requirements.

Should I get confirmation letter by now or would I only get that when they decide to send my documents back?

sometimes they will send email..sometimes they will send with your docs like mine.

Encouraging figures indeed.

We applied on the 31/01/2018.... and receieved (today 25/04/2018) an email
exactly 60 working days, telling us it'll be a little longer.... email below..

they really know how to turn the screw--dont they.

I think if they play that kinda thing they should state what’s making it complex. Would stop them from using it as a tool to buy them more time

I would love to be a fly on the wall of their office for a few days.

It strikes me, there is nothing encouraging them to meet these targets - I'm sure someone knows otherwise...

I think you could be right - although, as far as I know, the 60-day target is not limited to Priority Service applications ?

Agreed Ive just been watching the "Select Commitee" Home Affairs (Home Office ) and have made contact with Stephen Doughty an MP on that commitee he asks very interesting questions (that the Home Secretary has to answer) I have made contact on another matter most helpfull.

I would recommend emailing him with your concerns the more folk the better and lets see if there is an answer from our Government since they wont engage with us plebs

Now is a particularly good time for such questions of Ministers

They say that you will put in front of the pile but don’t give an exact date when it would be processed. This is so they can start reviewing the application at there own time.

The whole administration just needs changing and the time line and deadline needs to be accurate and not guess work.

Looking at the humorous side of the visa application backlog. I am sure it isn’t quite as bad as that.
