Cost seems to be a major factor in the decline(fish and chicken are cheaper and saw a rise)as well as health concerns over processed meats.

It's probably better to believe Sainsbury's rather than a source that has more likelihood of having invested interests.

Maybe it's just sales of meat are down in sainsbury's, their sales have been down across the board for a long time now.
