    When applying for

FLR(M) you need an A2 SELT from a recognised test centre, it takes 7 minutes or you can take graded English language test level 3

B1 is required for indefinite leave to remain ILR it is 10 minutes test and you have to supply a transcript of the topics you will be talking about. No at a higher level really just a broader conversation range.

Check out this FREE website for guidance on the whole process not just English language

thnx for that, the U/K website says you need A2" and does not specify anything else i know they are similar exams and the B1 takes a bit longer to sit, seems strange why that just state A2 ,would hate to put in application and get it kicked out because although we hold B1 they want A2.

B1 is higher so is better than A2 and is acceptable

provided the test was taken in the UK then my understanding is it will still be valid.

I have found it very helpful bigmac I bought the do it yourself pack from them, it's OK but the letters they supplied are something you can do yourself if you follow the guidance, they were helpful and replied to quite a few emails without asking for more payment so they are not money grabbing and their charges are up front

we will most likely use them if and when we apply again for my wife's sons settlement visa. our first attempt we ( i ) fell foul of the UKVI hidden agenda regarding child applicants biological father. my only comfort being that i was not the only one.

Yes we (I) fell foul of it first time even with an immigration advisor so I did it myself, my daughter is still my biggest worry even though they accepted the last application I made for her, I wonder about this application as all the evidence is now 2 years old and currently impossible to reproduce, but damit we have been living as a family for 2 years in the UK that should be proof enough

@Paulfozz the 2nd application for your daughter will be more straightforward than the first! Unless she's robbed a bank or shot someone!!
Been there done it it's a replication of mum's docs but in a dìfferant order.

looks like another £150 to pay out for the new A2 test then , another con paid for it twice in Manila ,,with the current Visa charge NHS etc you might as well write off 3 grand, land in a dinghy in Kent and nothing to pay and they wonder why some get angry.

Is where she took it still on the approved list?
Did she use it for the original application?
If the answer is yes to both these questions she can use the expired test, but the answer must be yes to both
