Hi bigmac, I am right now applying for FLR(M) financial route A, for my wife and daughter, I paid for the application and NHS on the 8th September and they have given us till the 10th November to attend for biometrics.

There are 2 areas for file upload Mandatory and Optional

Mandatory folders for my wife has
Proof of identity / travel documents
    Proof of application

Optional for my wife has these folders
    Other
    Residence in the uk
    Finances
    Proof of business
    Life events
    Medical information
    Sponsors / employment
    Educational

Mandatory folder for my daughter has only
Proof of identity / travel documents

Optional for my daughter has the following folders
    Proof of application
    Other
    Residence in the uk
    Finances
    Proof of business
    Life events
    Medical information
    Sponsors / employment
    Educational

As you can see it is a bit confusing what files you would upload where.
Tha mandatory folders tell you what documents they want uploaded but all the others leave it up to you.

I would appreciate help or recommendations, some are quite clear but for example would I put my payslips in employment or finances?

Hi matte cube, we have a similar situation daughter was refused at first so wife had to go back and get her later she is about 7 months behind my wife but her visa runs out same time as my wife, would that mean we have to make an extra FLR?

Hi you can apply up to 28 days before it expires, there are no appointments for biometrics till they email you telling you to use the new app or attend an interview, in our case they have said this must be before November 10th and we just applied last week, so now just waiting scanning documents and uploading them while waiting, your visa is automatically extended after you apply till a decision is made.
By the way a really good free website for all information is
    https://www.migrate.org.uk/flr-m-2018/

    Hope this helps

My wifes daughter was not refused we chose to bring her over later than her mother for a number of reasons, however her visa now is line wiuth her mother and her next stage is what her mothers will be ie ILR.
Your wifes daughter is in line with her mother as dependent and will now follow the same path at application stage.

    Hi
As you say you are told were to put the mandatory and the others at your discretion I put wage slips and bank statements in finance and left employment for employer letters

    Hi Bigmac
We did not provide sufficient evidence of sole responsibility and sole custody. She has her biological fathers family name, long story but never was involved in her upbringing, he is merchant seaman and we had to wait till he came back to Philippines on leave, which is biannually to get his details and affidavit that luckily did the trick, but again long story.

As long as the file size is less than 6meg they don't care what format they are in.
    Guidance is
File Size: maximum file limit is 6MB. You can separate your documents into parts if your file is too big and there is no limit on the number of documents/files you can upload.

Can anyone confirm if this is right when applying for FLR for my wife she has a B1 ielts exam on the website they are saying for FLR you need A2 ielts there seems little difference so why do they give them different initials its only speaking and listening tests also someone told me some of these exams only last two years is that correct does anyone know?

b1 is "higher" than A2--and is also required for ILR--so it makes sense to take BI for FLR rather than A2 now and B1 later. tests taken in the UK are valid for more than 2 years.
