Clothes sizes may be an issue.

It was almost a pleasure to buy my wife some winter clothes, Filipinas look so cute in a big winter coat, hat and scarf, I swayed her to buy (or rather me buy :)) a coat that is similar to my Crombie coat.

It has been difficult getting clothes for my wife. Particularly jeans and dressing gown. Shoes havent been a problem.

She is 4ft 11. And was a size 6/8. She is bigger now. But it is the leg length that is the problem. A good idea is to pack extra jeans if you are a shorter Filipina.

When my wife got around to packing I got her to bring all of her hoodies and a good number of pairs of her jeans but suggested she leave most of her shorts (not all) back in the Philippines. She arrived here on 1st October. The following day we went out for 2 pairs of shoes, jacket, coat and dressing gown. The dressing gown was a kids one from M and S as we couldnt get an adult one to fit her properly.

Some female outfitters like Miss Selfridge do a Petite range, which helps.

That's nice of you doing that to your petite wife.Aghh and i remember my loving husband to be wanted me to leave behind all my shorts, but i will keep my sleep shorts with me :D.
With clothes sizes i think i will not have a problem with that as i am 5'6 and leg length has not been a problem with me when i get clothes from M&S.(it's ironic that i have problems when i go shop at Pinay 'stores for clothes and trousers).
Anyway, i'm sure there will be lots of shops to rake about at Falkirk

We drove to Aberdeen a couple of years ago. From England. Stopped off just outside Falkirk. We were going to visit the Falkirk Wheel. But chose to shop in Edinburgh instead.

Yes. And for those Filipinas that might have a child or two then of course it would be worth it moreso.

There are lots of shops in Falkirk, also a good place for a night out as there are quite a few restaurants and pubs. Grangemouth on the other hand is dead, no decent pubs and certainly no quality shops, there is a Asda store though as a consolation :). As long as you are with Mr Nickel then that's all that counts :like:

Indeed JA, I really find it hard to knock the new surcharge for many reasons, some of which you have stated.

Over the years I have personally used the NHS very little. I did use it for 9 days with gall bladder issues, as I said. But now that I am older I am using it more.

However I have had 3 children on the NHS. And both my first 2 children had significant cases of asthma, both being hospitalised at various stages. I guess it all balances out in the end.
