Remember too that the missus will have to have all her travel history/dates at hand too for filling the online form in.
She can fill the form out then print it out ready for submission with a couple of photos, the form you print out has your reference number on it which will tie in with your online payment. Your missus will get a receipt for the payment by email, print that out as proof of payment when submitting the documents.

Regarding the visa submission timing, you can select a day when you want to submit the application online. As I said, pay for the premium service, its only a few quid more. Another thing, make sure the missus pays for the visa delivery courier service when submitting the application at the VFS office, at least then she will get the decision and documents sent to her saving her a trip to collect them. You pay for the visa delivery service at the VFS office on submission of the documents.

We will also be lodging in our visa application next month, any idea how much is the total amount (to date) to be paid? We pay in USD right?

    Hi

I just recently submitted a spousal visa and for that it was USD 1,583.00. As Timmers has said the new NHS surcharge will be
USD 936.00 per person, so your looking at £1700 in sterling.

I selected Cebu as the processing center, so that adds on another £50

Granting the NHS surcharge will not increase 2.5 years from now, we will be paying additional £500 in 2017 for my 2nd FLR, won't we?

Hi Anne, yes assuming it doesn't go up, you will be paying £500 on your next FLR.
